Man threatens CPS worker, now behind bars
This guy supposedly threatened to kill his estranged wife,
her boyfriend and his seven kids, but apparently that was less exciting than threatening the caseworker. http://www.caller.com/ccct/local_new...185864,00.html Man held in threats to CPS worker 34-year-old turns self in at county jail By Barbara Ramirez Caller-Times December 2, 2006 The wife of a man accused of threatening to shoot a Child Protective Services caseworker in the head earlier this week said she will help in the defense of her husband, who witnesses said also threatened her life. Christian Heltz turned himself in Friday morning after being indicted on felony retaliation charges Thursday. Investigators with the Nueces County Sheriff's Department say that before a custody hearing on Monday, Heltz threatened to shoot the female caseworker handling the case involving his seven children. He is accused of walking into the lobby of the Juvenile Justice Center, staring at the caseworker, threatening her life and leaving before the hearing started, according to Capt. Paul Rivera. The caseworker reported the incident to County Court-at-Law Judge Carl Lewis, who requested an investigation, Rivera said. Several witnesses heard the threat, Rivera said. Other people interviewed in the course of the investigation said Heltz, 34, threatened to kill his children, his estranged wife and her boyfriend, Rivera said. "We're separated, but we're still on good terms," said Angelica Heltz, who said she would help her husband get an attorney. Heltz turned himself in Friday morning to authorities at the Juvenile Justice Center, where a bailiff arrested him. Nueces County Sheriff's officers took him into custody shortly after 10 a.m. Friday, Rivera said. Heltz remained in Nueces County Jail on a $50,000 bond Friday afternoon. He faces two to 10 years in prison and a fine as much as $10,000, said prosecutor Mark Skurka.
