Default Hale's lookup

Does anyone know anything about Lexapro? It's supposed to be a new generation
antidepressant.

Thanks in advance.

It's not in Hales, but can be found as Celexa in the book---he says on his
site "Lexapro(escitalopram) is just the active isomer of Celexa. The
breastfeeding data in MMM on Celexa should be identical for Lexapro."

I don't have my Hale's right here, but I know it's safe. In fact, I took it
myself for a couple of weeks (but did not care for it).

Celexa is the 3rd safest in Hale's breastfeeding hierarchy.

His website says: "Lexapro:

Citalopram's an L3. It doesn't look like it passes into milk in terribly
high amounts. In one case, there was a mother taking the high therapeutic
dose (40 mg) whose infant "was noted to have 'uneasy' sleep patterns, which
were reduced upon lowering the maternal dose."

I think Larry's wife Monika is/was taking it; you might want to see if you
can ask him about her experience with it.

I'm prescribed Lexapro now. My doctor was supposed to be trying something
new after I was on Celexa. He forgot to mention Lexapro *is* Celexa.
Needless to say, I'm not taking it. It is safe and I hope it works for you

I quit taking Lexapro---I didn't like it.

Lexapro is just like Celexa, but is supposed to have less side effects.

I hope you find something that works for you soon.
