Default who to contact for help in uk?

Hi, my cousin lives in Loughborough and has just had her first baby a few
weeks ago. I don't know too much about the situation, and I'm not really in
contact with her much, but my aunt told me that she's having a hard time
feeding, he's not attaching properly and she's bleeding a lot so she's
already cut out all but 2 feeds a day which is a real shame. I am planning
on contacting her to congratulate her and I'd also like to include maybe
some contact details of someone local and approachable that could help her.
So if there is anyone from around there that could give me some info I could
pass onto her that would be really great.

Thanks

breastfeeding network, la leche league, nct, all have national numbers that
will put you through to a trained counsellor in her area.

Hi Anne, thanks for the reply - I'm sorry to be a pain - but I'm in
Australia, so I wouldn't know the national number either. I could probaby
tell her to look up the number, but I just wanted to make it as easy as
possible for her so she would be more likely to do something about it.

they are all on the uk websites for each of these things, google should find
the websites for you, it might take a little hunting to get the numbers

Links to and telephone numbers for all the national bf support orgs in
the UK and Ireland are listed at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/BreastfeedingUKandIreland

It's the "front page" for a bf support email list, and the OP's cousin
can also join that if she wants - but the info is there for convenience
for everyone, members or not.

I followed the links from the Australian Breasfeeding Association website
and came up with this:

http://www.laleche.org.uk/

On the front page there are links that will help find a local support group
and to their telephone helpline.
