Tweaking my nips

DD tweaks my nips and it is soooo irritating! Her heart breaks when I
don't grant access... Any advice on how to stop it?

Put her down and stop the feeding.

The best way to get her to stop is to not let her do it, no matter how sad
she is about your restrictions. You've got to be the parent. Kellymom has

I went with a more, uh, direct approach of saying, "no!" and moving
away.

Not fun, but heck, I couldn't stand it, and lo, both DDs figured out
soon enough that this was A Bad Thing To Do.

people were replying!
How old is your daughter? I just said NO and put her hand down. My 3.5 year
old's hand still wanders over to the other one, especially when she's really
sleepy. She doesn't mess with the nipples but wants her hand to be touching
the other breast. I just can't stand it, it bugs the hell out of me.

How old is she? How ingrained is this habit? I had a terrible time
with twiddling with my last one. People say, "Put him down," like it's
so easy, but like your baby, it had become very important and
comforting to him and it hurt his feelings terribly. When he was three
or so I could reason with him about it.

Anyway, with Lorelei I just never, ever let her touch my nipples. I
mover her hand every time and she has never picked up the habit.

the kellymom site someone gave really helped a lot! She does this
pinching thing... it's reallly annoying, but I'm trying to wait a bit
and see if it is just a stage she is going through.

Last night she started doing something that was even more annoying -
almost asleep, the nipple started coming out and she chomped down with
her new teeth to hold on to it... OUCH! Of course, with her being
almost asleep (FINALLY), I wasn't about to yelp and she eased the grip.
That was painful. Made the pinching pale in comparison!

It won't be a stage if you continue to let it happen. Just because she cries
doesn't mean that you shouldn't teach her manners.

As soon as DS2 was born I put the "baby necklace" back on: three
cylindrical fimo beads, strung on nice strong cotton cord (Thick!).

He still likes to rest his hand on the nipple that's not in use, but he
mostly holds on to the necklace and yanks.

As soon as DS2 was born I put the "baby necklace" back on: three
cylindrical fimo beads, strung on nice strong cotton cord (Thick!).

I love that idea! It seems like DD would have something to do with a
necklace like this one.
