Default Naptime 2 Year Old Twins-help!

I haven't been here in awhile, so hi again!

Abby and Alyssa are now 2 as of Dec. 20th. They sleep in the same room in
toddler beds, across the room from each other. When it's naptime, they do
not stay in their beds and get up and giggle and play. I repeatedly walk in
and tell them it's naptime, remove all temptations (residual toys) but these
two entertain each other and don't need anyone else outside of their own
world (or so they think!).

They are in daycare 3 days out of the week and the owner (a friend of ours)
puts everyone down for a nap from 1-3. The girls each sleep in Pac n Plays
there, and I guess it is no problem. They do still need naps. If we skip a
nap, they fall asleep too early literally in their high chairs at
dinnertime...not only that, are not the easiest little girlies to be around
when they are cranky (as if I have to explain here!).

So any advice? They are my 4th and 5th children and I have never come
across this before. My eldest two are 15 months apart and when they were
this age, they both slept in the same room for awhile and it was not an
issue.

TIA!
Chele

Could you put them down in different rooms for a while for the naps?

My mom's journal indicated that one of us was in the playpen and the
other in the crib for a while to ensure we didn't keep each other
up. We never slept in toddler beds (no space for them); so mom didn't
have to deal with that issue.

Cindy Wells
(mom's journal indicated she started this in self-defense when we had
different sleep needs with a cold making the rounds. One (me) wanted to
sleep all day and the other was active (to the point of wanting to go
outside with walking pnuemonia). However, it worked so well she kept it
for a while after we were healthy.)

TIA!

Chele, hi

Caroline and Alexandre are turning 2 in 4 months, and that's one of the
reasons I kept them in their cribs. If they were in toddler beds, it would
be chaos, jumping on each other's bed and etc... We tried putting them in
Heloise's bedroom during the holidays and it was that.Caroline and Heloise
jumping on beds, and playing. As soon as we bought the pac n plays it
stopped. And at home when they're in their bedroom in their cribs, we just
put them down for their nap and there's no fuss.
Never had to deal with that before either, since Heloise is a kid who never
napped. I could never get her to nap at all.
And, no , what's a cranky toddler ??? LOL. I don't know what you mean

Sophie

Hi Chele,

I always had to nap my boys separately, or it would have been the same
chaos! Is that an option? One would stay in their room and the other
napped in the Pack-n-Play in another room.

Good luck,
Ellen
