What are her qualifications for telling other people how to raise their children anyway? Does she have any of her own or does she have any academic qualifications. A Television camera crew seems to be all the qualification an "expert" needs these days. That or a white coat and bad hand writing! At least she hasn't bought herself a worthless PhD so she can call herself "Doctor" like those fraudsters Gillian McKeith and Paul McKenna |

typed: At least one writer loves Gina http://www.thefirstpost.co.uk/index....ID=1&subID=672 It's not Gina's childcare methods that are the issue. Some people will find them helpful, others won't, and there are likely to be strong feelings on both sides. But that's irrelevent - what matters in this case is that Gina is throwing a tantrum because some people have insulted her. I would have thought she'd have the sense to realise that, even if everything she writes makes absolute sense and always works for every child, there will still be some people who will want to abuse her for it. That goes with the territory of being a writer, especially a writer who is prepared to present controversial views. If she can't cope with that, then she's the one who should shut up, not Mumsnet. If someone appended a very critical comment on this site about La Ford
and her hissy-fit with Mumsnet, would she or her "suits" dare to suggest that they could take on Google and take this site down for such a trivial matter? Could be very funny if they or she had the cheek to try!! I suspect that Google could buy them all hundreds of times over and not even notice. So the answer is.... use sites like this one if you have any hopes of free discussion, (not that Google is immune but its threshold of concern will be very much higher). C'mon ...... let free speech rule! Let's hear it for Mumsnet! (or the blessed Gina). Say what you think about this debate... for and against and both sides. Moo |

Thanks, but i only watch Foxnews from 4:00Pm.-7:00 and 8:00Pm- 10:00Pm.
I write for FOX NEWS CHANNEL the rest of the time since Semtember 11, 2001 It is a great place to work since all the on air ladies breast feed their children in the green room right in frount of my desk. I also monitor Air America Radio and UNPR. the united nations palistine radio and Television . "Scott" wrote in message ... ANTHONY CHARLES TABONE wrote: It is normal for palestine and husbola parents to strap rockets and AIM them @ israel Arafat was paying the familys $10,000.00 and Sadam Hushain paid familys $25,000.00 to strap homaside bombs to there children and send to markets, malls, schools and even buses. And after September 11, 2001 Saudie Arabia had an aution to raise even more money to continue killing inocent israellies. The only countries that don't send there children to kill are UNITED STATES,MALTA,GREAT BRITTIAN,AUSTRIA,SOUTH KOREA,JAPAN. I counted 26 errors in that short piece - more if you include the so called 'facts' you wrote. You can always tell a Fox 'News' viewer. |

Gina Ford is a silly cow. She is in effect throwing a tantrum and shedding tears... which seems to be precisely what she tells parents to ignore... perhaps years of dealing with other people's babies but having none herself have warped her psychologically so that she adopts the behavioural mechanisms of a baby. Babies have these mechanisms because they have no other way of expressing discomfort or needs... in an adult woman it is another thing... she is quite clearly unfit to be left alone with an infant let alone attempt genuine parents how to look after their offspring. Er... this is Usenet... it is *not* Google nor regulated, owned, or whatever else by Google. Google simply has a feed into Usenet, the same as thousands of servers world-wide. Could be very funny if they or she had the cheek to try!! I suspect that Google could buy them all hundreds of times over and not even notice. So the answer is.... use sites like this one if you have any hopes of free discussion, (not that Google is immune but its threshold of concern will be very much higher). Usenet is fairly free with regard speech. This will not stop legal proceedings, although it is rather difficult to serve notice on those posting from another jurisdiction. This is especially true of speech which might attract criminal sanctions in one country but not in the country from which the message originated [1]. Axel [1] Although it might be wise for a person doing such things to avoid visiting the country in which it is a criminal offence. Or even neighbouring countries for that matter. |

In message , Richard
Polhill writes Of course, as Google is US-based where they sensibly do not hold intermediaries responsible for the views of third parties, it isn't a question for them, but what about UK sites that offer usenet web access? They would probably be open to action. In the mid/late 1990's someone complained to Demon about postings to a newsgroup that they felt were defamatory and wanted them removed from Demons' servers. They refused. It ended up in court IIRC, the judge found that Demon were 'publishing' the posts and thus would be liable if they were found to be defamatory. Demon made an out of court settlement. If you want the gory details Search for 'Demon Godfrey' - there are plenty of details on the web. -- Chris French |
