Default Daughter started menstruating...

I need advice. I'm a single father and my daughter started
menstruating at school today. I feel like I need to buy her some
hygiene products, but I don't know what to buy... can some of you make
suggestions about what is best for a 12-year-old girl?

Go to the drugstore and ask a lady clerk...I'm sure they'll help you.

Also, get her the book...The Care & Keeping of You: The Body Book for
Girls (American Girl Library) (Paperback)

To begin Stayfree Regular is good and she can choose from there, ABSOLUTELY NO TAMPONS!!! No matter how much she begs or tells you that all her friends use them. No. On her next well visit to the doctor the doctor can go into detail as to why it is unsafe. Dad you will need to get a book or two for yourself to just take your mind off the crabby angel to come. Please remember it is a huge change in a females body that no male will or could understand and will continue to add and change her body for the rest of her life. There are just as many advantages as disadvantages however the cramping, headaches and occasional crankiness for some reason always out stands the better.

Why is that? Please elaborate.

No matter how much she begs or tells you that
all her friends use them. No. On her next well visit to the doctor the

I doubt that, because tampons are perfectly safe for women of all ages,
including teens.
