Is it necessary to buy receiving blanket? What's about nappy liner? What is
kusher? Thanks

You'll want some kind of thin blanket to swaddle your baby in. Babies like
to be swaddled, wrapped up tight if for no other reason than to give them
some respite from their jerking, flailing limbs. Receiving blankets are
usually thin flannel. You might be able to make some by cutting a flannel
sheet in quarters (I did, very nice for babies after the newborn stage).

Nappy liners are optional. If you are using cloth diapers, you may find them
useful to keep poop off the diaper itself (to some degree) to limit
staining, or to make it easier to get the poop into the toilet for disposal.

I believe 'kusher' are Kushies brand diapers or diaper-liners. I'm not sure
about that.

I LOVE receiving blankets. You can use them for spit up, to actually wrap
the baby in, to put the baby on in public restroom changing tables,
etc.....So many uses.

Gosh I couldn't have lived without my receiving blankets. I used them for
swaddling, wrapping baby up even in the summer (the house was air
conditioned and it seemed cool for a newborn), after baths, etc....

No clue on nappie covers, I used disposables. And I have never heard of
Kushers.

IMO, yes, very neccesary. They are just the right size to wrap up the
baby. When they get a bit older, they are great to wipe up spit up.
I use them at the Maternal Health Care Nurse when he is being
weighted. I use them in trolleys (buggies) at supermarkets to give
him padding to lay on.

Now, my DD uses them with her dolls, and when she is snuggling on the
couch.

My friend's daughter who is 13 years old is making me a whole set of
receiving blankets. She bought material and is sewing them. They are
so sweet. They gave us a sleper and a car window shade tonight. We
also played "The Baby Game." It was so much fun. I'm feeling very loved
tonight.
