Tell me about it.

Baby #1, due Feb 12, came Feb 28
Baby #2, due Dec 10, came Christmas Day (argh!!)
Baby #3, due Dec 12, came Boxing Day (double argh!!)

The midwife was so sure that at least #3 would come closer to her due
date, but no such luck.

I don't know when Boxing day is,

Boxing Day (from http://www.pch.gc.ca/progs/cpsc-ccsp...a/boxing_e.cfm):

"The day after Christmas, the Feast of St. Stephen, the first Christian
martyr, is better known as Boxing Day. The term may come from the opening of
church poor boxes that day; maybe from the earthenware boxes with which boy
apprentices collected money at the doors of their masters' clients.

Nowadays, we often see, in certain families, gifts (boxes) given to those
who provide services throughout the year."

Boxing Day is a holiday in Canada, Britain, and probably many other
countries in Europe.

Thanks. I knew it was near Christmas, but didn't know the details.
Is it really that big a deal in Canada? I've never heard any Canadian
friends talk about it.

In Denmark it's called 'second Christmas day'. It's always a day off
unless you are a nurse or the like.
