New York Health Commissioner is NOT planning to receive swine fluvaccine

New York State Health Commissioner Dr. Richard "Daines says he is not
planning to receive the swine flu vaccines but tells us that, if he
finds that he will be dealing face-to-face with patients, he will
receive the vaccination."

Needless to say, a possibility that he would be dealing with patients
face-to-face in this flu season is purely theoretical.

So, he does not believe swine flu to be dangerous to himself, or to
healthy people that he could infect. At least not so dangerous to
bother about getting a vaccine.

He considers it a requirement only for health care workers. But while
mandating it for medical personnel he does not mention the issue
regarding nasal spray vaccine: the vaccinated people shed the virus
for up to three weeks, and those with compromised immune systems may be
infected. One could expect an additional mandatory condition, or at
least a strong recommendation, to use only an injectable vaccine for
those who deal with patients. But he did not issue any. Is it negligence
or inconsistence or what?
