Default Expecting in April 08

Hi Everyone,

I am new to the group-- I am interested in hopefully connect with
other moms or expectant moms in the Philadelphia area.

I am far away from most of my family and friends and would like to be
able to connect with other moms going through the process as well.
Sometimes its nice to be able to bounce different thoughts, concerns,
feelings off of each other.

I promise not be judgemental and I will be openminded. I only ask
the same in return.

So, I will post occaisionally to start little convo's. If it strikes
a chord with you, feel free to message me.

Hope to meet you soon Best of luck to all!

Nicole

Hey. My name is Kristin. I have a one year old baby girl. She is my
first child. She just turned a year old on Dec. 1st. What are some of
the things you are interested in talking about. Are you planning on
breast feeding? Do you know if you are having a boy or a girl?

Hi Kristin,

A year old...wow, it goes so fast, huh? We are expecting a boy and
yes, I am planning on trying to breastfeed. I am not deadset on it
(we'll just roll with the punches)...But I would prefer to be able to
breastfeed even if it is a bit inconvenient (and painful!!) at times.
I just think its better for the overall health of the baby....but like
I said, I have seen so many moms not able to get their child to latch
on, or whatever else could change the opportunity, that I am open...

Do you send your daughter to daycare? babysitter? stay at home? I
am still not sure what we are going to do with our little guy-- my
area has a really LONG wait time for daycares, etc., so I havent been
able to map it all out yet...

Do you mind if I ask your age? Are you married? What do you consider
your biggest challenge as a "newer" mom?

Hope you have a great night

Hey! Breastfeeding for me went really good. Within the first hour
Ariel was born, she latched on as soon as I put it to her mouth. I
didn't ever have problems with breastfeeding. Even after I weaned
her... I didn't have any engorment or much leakage. Here is my blog
about how I weaned Ariel. Thought is might be interesting... and
useful to you in the future if you do decide to breast
feed. http://weaning-your-baby.blogspot.com

I'm a stay at home mom. I'm 22 and married. My biggest challenge....
Hum. I was a little scared about breastfeeding, but I was very
determined. I said to myself even if it is painful, I'm at least going
to try for about 2 weeks. I had one night where Ariel feed for almost
2.5 hours... the whole time she was feeding, she was pulling her head
backwards like she wasn't getting enough. Finally after about the 2.5
hours, I woke her Daddy up.... cause at that time all I could do was
cry. She was crying and I didn't know what was worng. I tried for
about 30 minutes after the 2.5 hours of feeding to get her quite and I
couldn't. As soon as Daddy got there... Everything was ok. I guess she
just wanted her Dad. But challenges now are keeping her hands off
everything. It is impossible to completely child proof a home.
Especially after they are walking and get to the height of everything.

We (my husband and I) are thinking about planning another child....
I'm wanting a boy this time. I wanted a girl the first time and I got
that. Either way I would have been happy though. I just wanted a
healthy baby.

Good Night

PS- My blog also has other information... and offers baby things.
