Didn't they find the same earlier when they basically blamed the man for
being a twerp who trusted his wife.

That is the common justification for making the non-bio dad pay. I had a
conversation about this with my younger sister recently. My teenage nephew's
GF is pregnant.
My sister is attending the GF's prenatal visits, etc and the GF is very
compliant. She wants to
finish high school/college. My sister is making a room available for her in
her large home. The girl
will have a medicaid card. My nephew will finish high school. Not sure what
the CS implications will be
given both parents will be in school. I told my sister 2 things:

1) ***PATERNITY TEST*** ASAP !! (I don't care how much in love they appear!)

2) Expect CS to be ordered to repay the state for medical expenses, etc, ad
infinitum.

I wouldn't be so quick about that. DNA evidence goes into a national
database where they compare it to all other files for a match. And when they
find more matches, guess what.....................

That's what I was going to ask. Does he think that they are out there
waiting to find that one-in-a-million match? I don't think it can be used
that way.

Hey, Chris--did you have a DNA test done on one child and find out you
weren't the father, only to have them nab you for the child of a woman you
had never even met?

I thought maybe he was suggesting that my nephew might be a serial
killer or something. Geeze, he lives in a tiny rural village in the middle
of
nowhere and just got his driver's license.

It would be interesting if they started feeding all the DNA from all the
moms and kids with "unknown father" into this database--since there is a
remote possibility that 2 people's DNA could be similar enough to cause a
"match," I wonder what would happen if such a thing ever did happen.
Remember some of the DNA stuff from the OJ trial?

The state of the law on this issue -- like the state of the law on
post-conception reproductive choice -- is a good litmus test, in my view.
What the litmus test reveals is the continuing grotesque distortion of U.S.
law in favor of women and against men.

With very few exceptions, courts in all states in the U.S. say that a
man cannot use the results of a DNA test to end his responsibility to pay a
woman "child support." By contrast, however, a woman can use a DNA test to
force a man to pay her the money. A new technology (DNA testing) came
along, and it was quickly adopted to defend the interests of women. There
has been great reluctance to see this technology used to defend the
interests of men.

Sometimes, supporters of the status quo (see for example the statement
on the website of the Children's Rights Council, http://www.gocrc.com/ )
claim
that they are concerned with the interests of the child, and they do not
want to end a relationship between a child and the man that he or she has
known as father. However, this is nonsense. Forcing a man to pay "child
support" to a woman who has conceived the child by a relationship (very
possibly adulterous) with another man provides no guarantee that the man
will maintain a relationship with the child. All it does -- and all it is
intended to do -- is force the man to pay money to the woman.

That is an extremely remote possibility. Unless you have an identical
twin, the odds of getting a match are something like 10 billion to
one. The entire world population is only 6 billion. Further, DNA
testing can easily determine if you or a family member fathered a
child. Hell, they do it all the time on the Springer wannabe shows.
