185 years in prison for abusing foster kids

Convicted child molester Renaldo Dominguez was sentenced today to 185
years in state prison for his crimes against three young boys who were
in his foster care.

Last month a jury found Dominguez guilty of 19 counts of child
molestation, including oral copulation and sodomy. The victims were all
under 14 — one was 8 at the time — when the sexual abuse happened in
1999 in Napa.
In 1999, the Napa County District Attorney’s Office filed 15 counts of
child molestation against Dominguez involving one of his foster
children, who was 8 at the time.

During the court appearances prior to setting a trial date, the defense
attorney asked for several continuances, according to court records. The
case dragged on for about four years. Because of the time delay, in
2003, Napa County Superior Judge Stephen Kroyer dismissed the charges
against Dominguez, making him a free man.

The district attorney’s office then petitioned the state attorney
general’s office to look into Kroyer’s ruling, said Napa County Deputy
District Attorney Paul Gero, who prosecuted the case.

Ultimately, prosecutors appealed the ruling and a court of appeals
overturned it, allowing prosecutors to reinstate the charges against
Dominguez.

A former Napa foster parent was sentenced this morning to 185 years in
prison for sexually abusing three former foster children.



Renaldo David Dominguez, 58, was convicted in August of 19 counts of
child molestation, including oral copulation and sodomy. The crimes
involved three male victims who were foster children in Dominguez’s care.

Although the sexual abuse happened in 1999 in Napa, the case took eight
years to be heard. This included a dismissal in 2003 because of lengthy
delays.

Imagine that, 6.4 children die at the hands of the very agencies that
are supposed to protect them and only 1.5 at the hands of parents per
100,000 children. CPS perpetrates more abuse, neglect, and sexual abuse
and kills more children then parents in the United States. If the
citizens of this country hold CPS to the same standards that they hold
parents too. No judge should ever put another child in the hands of ANY
government agency because CPS nationwide is guilty of more harm and
death than any human being combined. CPS nationwide is guilty of more
human rights violations and deaths of children then the homes from which
they were removed. When are the judges going to wake up and see that
they are sending children to their death and a life of abuse when
children are removed from safe homes based on the mere opinion of a
bunch of social workers.
