OT yell-proof baby
Hello again,
Well today my 14-monther deliberately bit me while nursing, then smiled in response to my angry yelling. I'd hollered "No!" and pushed his mouth away rather roughly. While I regret that anger and reflex got the best of me, I couldn't help but wonder why in heck he wasn't crying in response to my anger. What's with this? I don't raise my voice very much, however, when I do, he doesn't seem to mind one bit. Is that weird, or what? Beth |

He does smile, though. It's frustrating. I'd imagine it would be much worse if he had teeth... -- z e l d a b e e @ p a n i x . c o m http://NewsReader.Com/ http://mysite.verizon.net/vze1vy2t/sprogly/ |

Maybe he smiled because *he* was the one in control. :-) -Patty, mom to Corinne (5.75y) and Nathan (3.5y) and stepmom to Victoria (13.5y) |

DS (17mths) just laughs if we raise our voices. he thinks it's funnier than being tickled or playing peek a boo. i try to use the ignore or distract methods instead. but sometimes it is sooooo hard not to yell. -- elizabeth (in australia) DS - born 20-aug-02 |

All he knows is, hey, interesting reaction. -- tristyn www.tristyn.net "i have heard the mermaids singing, each to each. i do not think that they will sing to me." |

My 13 Mo is currently obsessed with a sesame street book that has the character Oscar the Grouch in it. I play it way up, growl-yelling whenever I have to say his words (and I really do make him sound mean), and she LOVES it. She actually laughs out loud and then *hugs* me whenever I do him. Yes, it's weird. |

Beth This is the reaction I get and have always got with dd, now 10 mo. Big smile like "now wasnt that *the* most funniest thing!". I think they like their normally placid mothers going ape! Leah |
