Alex :-) Yeah. Thought you'd change your mind. However I am into road trips 'Kate |

Hey Christine, I might make that 45 below yet! :-) I feel as if I'm in my old job in the Yukon, bouncing around the territory consulting in the winter. Some aspects of that are kind of fun. But I miss a decent net connection. I hope everyone is well, happy, and *warm* - especially those in the north part of the northern hemisphere. Take care! Cele It's freezing rain here, but tomorrow, well, they forecast something like 10! Ok a couple of day later :-) like the 18th ( today ) 10pm the 17th it was 10 degrees, no wind. Sounds ok.... 6:00 am the 18th, alarm clock goes off. 6:03 the neighboring fire dept goes out on a tractor trailer roll over at the intersection of Peruville & Groton Rd. Interesting. My last night in Williams Lake, the fire alarm in the hotel went off at three in the morning. It was minus thirty seven. Luckily, it was a false alarm. But sheesh. Well this intersection is about 400 meters from my house, we didn't hear a crash. We live near a high traffic road for Cargil Salt, so the only type of truck out that early in the AM are salt trucks, either empty, or loaded. This one was loaded. [snip great story] Moral of the story is.....I'm moving South :-) I'd do that, if I wasn't already there. :-) Wellll.....if I didn't have a decent job and only 4 yrs away from the 20 Yrs at Cornell mark. and have to only put up with this for 4 months out of the year, and I like season changes, and low temps like this only come a couple of times a year. Alex Heh. Yeah. Well, keep the furnace in good repair. I know I do. Now, over in Wales, I guess not everyone does. But what do they know from cold, huh? LOL Be well. Cele |

I know plenty of out of work computer folks but I also know a number of working computer techs. I'm fairly certain that motivation to work accounts for at least some of the difference in life situations. There are a number of universities; the one that I attend, UHCL http://www.cl.uh.edu , is beginning to offer more web CT classes. Actually... the summers here are insufferable. All the better to thaw out with. Fishing's good. The summer evenings are nice. And after a dozen years or so, the summer's ok. And hmm.... write me at my old addy if you have it still and catch me up on what's going on. Done 'Kate |
