Default Due Date Day

Today is my due date, finally. It sure has seemed like a long time
coming. I think I've been pregnant for ever That being said, I now
kind of hope I don't go into labour for a few days so that I can get
over this stupid cold a bit and feel better before having this baby.

How about you Rivka, are you still hanging in there. You're not far
behind me. Getting close.

Happy due date! Be sure to get out today to enjoy the look on
people's faces when they ask you when you are due and you say
today. That was the best part about going past my due date.

Feel better,

May the cold pass quickly, and may you go into labor at exactly the
right time for you!

The symptoms that got me so excited last weekend - the menstrual-like
cramps and the bloody show - have completely stopped. That makes me
kind of nervous. I'm going to the midwife this evening - at least
she'll be able to tell me if anything is wrong, or if things are still
looking good.

In the meantime, I'm trying to shift my expectations from "I could go
into labor any minute!!!!" to "I could be pregnant for some time
yet" - for my mental health's sake.

Good luck to you, Shelley!

I was 2 weeks past due with DS and yes I loved seeing the looks on
peoples faces when they asked when you were due and you told them a
week ago. People get scared of you. It's funny.

It's definately hard waiting. I think a definate due date would be
much easier than an estimated one. If only they would be more
punctual.

Hi Shelley

I am due on 18th April 2005 and I have a cold at the moment and I just got
"a show" 5 days ago and have been getting crampy feelings off and on so I am
hoping I wait a bit aswell I dont want to go into labour with a cold, would
rather get over the cold and a few days later once my energy has come back
then I would like to go into labour.

Good luck with everything and I have found that filling the basin in the
bathroom with hot water and putting a few spoons of vicks into the water and
putting a towle over my head and inhaling the hot vicks water has helped me
to sleep easier and clears your nose amazingly well.

Regards
Chanelle

Not that I recommend what I'm about to describe, but your post brought
it to mind. When my grandma used to feel a cold coming on, she would
eat a spoonfull of Vicks. I can't even imagine what it must taste
like, much less feel like going down, but she very rarely had colds!

Don't try this at home. I have no idea what the recommended daily
allowance of petroleum jelly is!

hahaha that sounds like something my nana would do.

Must be a horrible taste going down but my nana eats a whole garlic when
she feels the flu coming on, that must be pretty yuck tasting aswell.

Oh, I hope you get over that cold!!! No fun. My sister went into labor
with a cold, and she said it was not fun. I'm hoping you do wait a couple
of days or more. I never felt anxious on my due date to go into labor. It
was about a week after my due date that I was impatient! Enjoy these last
days or harboring a lil' baby.
