advice is to bind your breasts tightly, use cold compresses
of cabbage leaves, keep your breasts out of hot water (like in a bath or
shower), and not express at all (which shouldn't be a problem for you,
based on your history). You will likely still get engorged, but this

should help the milk production decrease and eventually go away.

What Jamie said, and take Motrin if you have any pain.

And, because engorgement is caused by swelling of the breast tissue, as well
as the fill-up of milk, ibuprofen should help with that, too.

Thanks. I think I read somewhere that there's also a drug that will
stop production, anyone know about that?

Oestrogen will, but it's not a good idea to take it immediately
post-partum due to the thrombosis risk. Your best bet is Sudafed, which
diminishes milk production.

All the best,

Sarah

Due to scarring following cosmetic surgery, I was unable to express
milk after my first pregnancy and therefore never able to breastfeed.

I am pregnant again and would like to know what I need to do, and when,
to halt milk production before it puts me on the path to mastitis.

There is a kellymom section on sage and other herbs for decreasing milk
supply.

I don't per se, but I wonder if Benadryl or even herbal decongestant teas
would have that effect? Of course, Benadryl while sleep deprived may not be
the route to go. Anyway, you get the idea!
