Default age for citrus fruits?

What is an acceptable age to try citrus fruits, such as orange ? I seem to
remember that it isn't one of the first you should give, or tomatoe? Am I
thinking right? DS is 7 mos, he's had blueberries and liked them. He's not so
keen on apples or pears, maybe they aren't tart enough for his tastes?

No food allergies, either side.

We say after a year for both. My daughter had the most terrible rashes from
any kind of citrus.

I also vote for after a year, but some kids will be rashy from acid
fruits even after a year. Caterpillar is a big fan of orange, but she
gets rashy if she's not changed instantly (within seconds of pooping)
until it all passes through. (And most of what she eats passes through
with the juice sacs intact, so there's very little juice actually
contacting skin.)

(I sense a pattern of me saying "wait until after a year" for foods that
Caterpillar is snarfling down at less than 10 months, so you might not
want to take advice from me. )
