Do most of you do something
Do most of you do something regularly away from your children that is
just for you? What do you do during this time and who cares for your little ones? tina |

What do you do during this time and who cares for your little ones? tina I feel the need to get away once in a while and I have my DH look after my DD when I feel this way. It's never for more than a couple of hours. DH and I went to a movie last week and left DD with my sister. I am breastfeeding and my DD is only 10 weeks old so it is a little difficult at present to get a way for long periods of time but then again after 2-3 hours I am ready to get back home to my beautiful girl :-) Nadene |

I don't necessarily have anything in *particular* that I do on a regularly scheduled basis, but I make time to visit with friends and family, spend time alone with my husband, pursue some hobbies (like needlework--can do some with the kids around, but also like to go shopping for it or visit with others to stitch), etc. The kids are watched by my husband, other family members (usually my parents or my sister), or by our babysitting co-op. Best wishes, Ericka |

I work out for an hour every day when my husband is home.. and then some of my friends and I try to go out once every other week for a Girls' Night Out. We usually see a movie or go to dinner.. |

DH and I both have our personal evening off once a week, when the other takes care of DS. We both have musical hobbies, so I go off to sing, he is drumming (thank goodness not in the house). Whenever we have family over for a longer period, we plan a day out together and go to see a movie, but that is a rare thing. -- -- Ilse mom to Olaf (07/15/2002) TTC #2 "What's the use of brains if you are a girl?" We have been married 7 years. For the first time since we had children, we spend the weekend away from them. It was our anniversary. :-) Their older brother (my son, 22) took care of them, bless him! Do most of you do something
Well time away is very few and far between, but yes if I had the chance, I
would definitely do something on my own. We get a babysitter if we can afford it or hubby watches them while I do something. But, as I said I don't get out much and it definitely impacts my sanity. -- Sue mom to three girls tina wrote in message om... Do most of you do something
We do a regular weekly date night with a sitter (sometimes its been a
relative, sometimes a neighbour, sometimes a nanny etc.). I think a lot of us tend to neglect our marriages somewhat during the very hectic and exhausting days when children are small (i.e. babies to kindergarten age). We don't do anything fancy - usually just a burger and a movie, but it does make a huge difference to actually devote some time to just being together as a couple, and not just mummy and daddy. No laughing, but we've even used "date night" to go shopping. We've got three kids and it is next to impossible to shop for any major domestic purchase like an appliance or furniture with the kids in tow. Mary G. |
