Saturday August 13th saw the birth of two new world citizens: DD and DS2.
Since DD was not lying in full breech and the membranes had ruptured, they
arrived by c-section. They both weighed in at just above 3kg. My recovery
is progressing well, DS2 is nursing like a champ, but needs additional
hospital tests for an enlarged kidney. He is doing wonderful otherwise.

After a good start, DD is having problems with fluctuating bloodsugar
levels. She has a hard time drinking even a bottle of EBM, we have had to
force feed her once and saw improvement this morning, but now it seems she
is slowing down yet again. Perhaps this is her normal behaviour, she has
been more sleepy at this time of day since birth, and seems more alert
through evening and night.

Ohhhhhhh (((((Ilse))))). I'm SOOOOO very happy for you!

You've made me cry- tears of joy of course! There's no doubt in my mind that
these babies are the luckiest babies in the world- to have such an amazing
mom like you who loves them so very much!

I think this calls for some 'MO-style' Bounce! BOUNCE!
BOOOOOOOOOOUNCING!!!!!

*Bounce*

Congratulations!

I don't speak Dutch, but I've got it figured out, Peter. :-0)

Good deal! I know Minnesotans catch on quickly

BTW, you're working at the State Fair? Lucky you! I'd love to go there
again

Well, it's not exactly working. It's, at the moment, three public
relations gigs. Did you look at my webpage? Cute story about an event
last night. www.jamlady.eboard.com, the Fair Foundation note on the
front tab.

At least we have our 'kraamzuster', a specialized nurse who cares for me
and the babies at home the first week. She is on top of things, and so are
we.

Woohooooooo huge congrats on your wee miracles :*-)

Congratulations! I hope the tests come back clear.

Some babies are just sleepier than others. Have you tried taking off
clothing or her nap before a feed, or a damp washcloth? Can you give her EBM
with a syringe or spoon? It might be easier if she's reluctant as she then
won't have to suck, and she won't get nipple confusion.

At least we have our 'kraamzuster', a specialized nurse who cares for me
and the babies at home the first week. She is on top of things, and so are
we.

That's a relief! Do you get ongoing help with twins? Here in NZ I know there
are some tax breaks etc for multiples, one mum of twins I know has a nanny
with her some of the time while her husband is at work.
