In that case I'd just get a dealer to do it. It's not something you can
afford to get wrong.

The dealership wants to charge a lot for something that we can get done for
free and a lot sooner.
Wait at the dealership is a good 3 months. Wait to take it to my dad who is
able to do it for free is as long as it takes to drive it to his shop. He
is able to do it, and he has done it (on other vehicles for random
customers, as well as for our last car) but he needs to find the points
first. He can and will do it, and properly. He's done it before, and is, I
guess for lack of a better word, 'allowed' (?maybe a bad word, or not the
right one) to do it safely.

He's authorized maybe??

I think I will just go there first thing Tuesday morning as soon as he pulls
in to work and remind him to call right away lol

That might be a better word. Anyways, he's able to do it up to par as far
as standards go.
Authorized sounds silly, but nowhere near as silly as allowed! LOL

The health nurse told me that some dealerships, she believed, would do it
for free if you supply the hardware (which we do have) I've called around
to every GM dealership that I can find in the city, and none will do it
for
free. Some say you have to buy the kit from them and then they will
install
it for quite a bit of cash, others say you can supply the hardware and
they'll charge a little less to do it. In either event, regardless of how
expensive or not it is, it's a good 3 month wait.

Well that's inconvenient :-(

You might be able to locate a schematic of your car's frame by
searching either online or at your library, for a Haynes Manual for
your specific car. Or possibly a Chilton's manual.

Good luck!

Nan

I just found out earlier today that my dad is going to get a hold of the guy
at the dealership that he knows first thing in the morning tomorrow! Not
Tuesday. I will probably talk to my dad tonight, and if need be, I will be
there at 830am, ready to rock and roll
