"Lavoone" never said that, and if I remember correctly, you were not
present at the time.

Children tend to scream when parents hit them. The point of the post,
which you of course conveniently missed and conveniently cut, was the
secrecy involved. If spankers were so convinced that what they were
doing was correct there would be no need for the secrecy. Especially
during the 50's and early 60's, when I was a child.

I wonder just what kind of kick you get out of stories of the spanking

If you are talking about my comment that my parents closed the door to
muffle my screams, yes that is correct.

If you are talking about your inflamatory subject line, this is neither
a direct quote nor anything that you could possibly know.

Children tend to scream when they are hit. This does not automatically
mean that they are being beaten unmercifully. And besides, my post was
in response to the secrecy surrounding spanking.

Maybe they did, and maybe they didn't. Children tend to scream when
being hit! If you were brave enough, you would have included the entire
post, so individuals reading this would understand the secrecy context
