Hi Kate,
I'm full time. Widowed for 6 years now. Not how I thought I would raise a
family but life happens. It never seems to get easier but nobody ever said
life would be aesy, right? :-)

How was your Thanksgiving. How many children do you have?

Default Hi, Single Dad, New to group.

Thanks Kim..
My daughter is doing the same to me. But I'm her dad, she knows how to play
me.

Default Hi, Single Dad, New to group.

Condolences to you and your family Kate. I think you know better than most
what it is like. Your kids were older, had to be hard on them. I only had
two. Didn't sink in for a couple years for them. That gave me time to
adjust.
Good on ya for raising three children on your own.

Haven't remarried. Between kids and work, time to meet others is limited.
I'll keep trying... You?

What part of the world do you live? I live in So. Cal.

No one said that it would be this challenging either but there you have
it. :-\ My condolences on your loss. Your kiddos must have been very
young then...doing the math 4 and 6? I can't imagine what it's been
like for you. Never remarried, huh?

I have three, ages 26, 17, and 15. I've been raising them alone since
'98 when their father died. Heck of a thing, huh?

All in all, they're good kids. My older daughter is on her own and soon
to become engaged (Christmas). She works in the jewelry industry now. My
son is attending the local community college... as soon as he can
legally drive, he's free to pursue other options for his education. My
younger daughter is still attending High School. I spend my weekday
mornings driving and dropping them off before I'm off to class. I'm
finishing up my Master's in Marriage and Family therapy. In just a few
short years I'll be waking up to an empty house with nothing to do but
get myself out the door and off to work. Why does that suddenly sound
like nirvana?

Nice to meet you. You found a good group of people. We're a little on
the quiet side until we start arguing or flirting... feel free to share
& join in anytime.

Default Hi, Single Dad, New to group.

And you too. But don't you sometimes think that the kids are missing
out?

Yes I do think my kids are missing out. I can be the best father in the
world but there are things a mother does that a father can never do.
Especially for my daughter. It's a Maternal thing.

Nice. Except for the desert parts. "But it's dry heat" doesn't quite make
up for it being 110 in the shade.

Dry heat my butt! I hate that saying. It's just insanely hot in the desert.
No Thanks, I live near the ocean, I travel a lot for work and have been to
some beautiful places on both coasts. I keep coming back here. I can sail
year round, drive to the mountains to ski, and I never have to shovel snow.
I'm in Texas where it's hot and humid 9 months out of the year. We have
two seasons and they're both summer.

There is no place to live that is perfect, we have earthquakes. :-)

Default Hi, Single Dad, New to group.

Hello Dennis,

Wow, Three boys. Good Job! Any advice for a fellow single dad?

Greetings from Ireland

I made it to London last year . Ran out of time so I didn't make it to your
part of the world. Maybe next year.
