I'm alive! - just, been so poorly fighting that virus off, had the worse headache for a week, even my spine hurt, could hardly move my head cos my neck was so sore, dr said to take paracetamol and if any bumps came up call asap. Its been sunny and wet this week, went to the Chemists to buy new sun glasses cos my eyes hurt, took 5 minutes to choose em, the moment I stepped out onto the pavement it began to rain, yep, a sense of humour really keeps me together somehow, if I lose my humor somethings wrong, - sometimes life demands a little bit of the lateral, if we don't bend a bit we'd snap. I'm having a tidy, I came to the conclusion that I don't possess things, they possess me. I'm a bit of a horder mom and dad were into old stuff and old houses, something always needed mending, restoring, decorating. Sadly I've only inherited the junk hoarding gene, the desire to clean it up and resell didn't come too. I've got the 'that'll come in useful I'm sure, don't bin it' and nothing in my house is worth over a couple of lousy quid. At one point I had 9 bikes, can you imagine? 9 bikes ! and only one of them works - the rest went into a skip. Anything that was worth anything was sold to pay the outstanding bills when he left. So I cleaned out my wardrobe. It's sad to see those lovely dresses that'll never see the twinkling lights of a summer city evening again, I thought I'd sell those and save, it'll be nice to take the kids on an outing. Then lit'lun saw the loose slates up on the roof, -and I'm sure not going up there - We've been making patchwork (pink of course) for floor cushions... (the bags of feathers were left over from a sofa reupholstering episode-the sofa frame cost £10 the feathered cushions from a factory outlet)we had to rebag them in the garden, we sneezed for a day or two. The fabrics which don't match I'll run together anyway and wash through with a pink dye I found. The flour dough was a great success and we'll make more this week. The Ugh of the week has been the slugs. They squeeze into my kitchen in wet weather after dark. They are disgusting. I've tried to be green about them, you know contemplating the beauty of Gods creatures, some are mottled, some are brown, some even have an orange line down each flank...you know like a go-faster-stripes?. Ugh! Its when I'm bare foot I hate them most, I've popped a slug in the night once before......I'm gonna find an hedgehog and lock it in there for 24 hours. I'm sick of sweeping up salt. Ugh! I brewed of coffee one morning and boiled one. I only noticed when I took a mouthful. AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!#~%!!! Bye! Miri |

Oh, please don't give it to me... A while back, I had something to get over and it was quite far from fun... Hopefully you're feeling better now! It's been like that here too, I guess... It's been raining and raining, then there's some nice sun, and more rain. Nice lightning too, and some thunder the other night... I did not sleep well lol I'm having a tidy, I came to the conclusion that I don't possess things, they possess me. I'm the same way. I'm a hoarder. Been to flylady? Fly thru the clutter and stuff... Yeah, right... I made an attempt at the first 'task' and scrubbing down the kitchen sink like there's no tomorrow just didn't work. I'm sorry, I just don't have the time and patience (and I don't care enough) to put a clean tea towel in the kitchen sinks each and every night before I go to bed. That just seems like extra laundry to me... I think EVERYTHING might come in handy, or be used for the first, sometimes second time... Doesn't matter what it is. Oh, just might need this useless kitchen gadget that I've never used before and no idea how to work it anyways... We had a bike lot going for a while... Now it's not so bad... Norm's a big bike fan, and 'parts' are always needed, it seems... My dirty problem right now seems to be wooden spoons. I think there's 11 of them right now... What I need 11 wooden spoons for is beyond me... Also, pens... Most of them don't even work... Why am I keeping them again??? Over the last short while, I've gotten rid of a bunch of useless crap that someone else probably could find useful... Thinking of the kitchen, I gave away 2 small crock pots (I don't think I've ever used either of them before), a cookie press machine - I've never baked cookies, unless all you have to do is add some water to the powder from a package, or cut off slices of a half frozen roll of cookie dough... a small George Foreman type indoor grill - too small to even be somewhat useful for our famil, as it is good enough to fit on maybe 1 boneless chicken breast - I normally need a good 5 or 6 chicken breasts cooked at a meal to feed everyone... A teeny tiny rice cooker that is pointless when the best rice I can cook up is called, "Minute Rice", old silverwear after I just went out and bought a new, matching set, a bag of coffee mugs - no one even really drinks coffee around here, so I kept a total of 6 and brought my dad over about a dozen and a half coffee mugs for him to keep at his work... a small food chopper thing, some corning ware type dishes... Hm.. I got rid of sooo much clutter... Then moved on to the MANY boxes in the basement... Got rid of about 4 HUGE boxes of toys that no one's looked at in ages and no one's missed yet... Packed up all of B's clothes that he's grown out of - the ones that I didn't care to keep and had no reason to keep - and passed them on to a single mom friend with a 3 year old boy and also a 10 month old boy...Shoes, jackets, boots, pj's, shorts, socks, shirts, jeans... You name it... Some stuff I packed in a box, but not much! Figured I should pass on those Spiderman and Bob the Builder clothes to a little boy who can use them now, rather than keeping all of it for Amie to NEVER wear (as I assume a little girl would probably prefer flowers, butterflies and Barbie over Bob the Builder, Spiderman or the Hulk, and who knows if in 3 or 4 years kids will still like the Hulk???) I actually didn't sell a thing... It might have come in handy to *try* and sell some of this stuff for a bit of spare change, but I wanted it gone and out of sight, out of mind ASAP, so I gave it away like free advice. Plus, I was trying to cut down the clutter and useless stuff, so finding someone who could use it helped. So I cleaned out my wardrobe. It's sad to see those lovely dresses that'll never see the twinkling lights of a summer city evening again, I thought I'd sell those and save, it'll be nice to take the kids on an outing. Then lit'lun saw the loose slates up on the roof, -and I'm sure not going up there - I hauled off 2 or 3 boxes of clothes neither Norm or I have worn in forever, and have no plans to wear in the near future, and the Goodwill was happy to accept it all! I also don't dare go on roofs anymore... A couple years back, I helped a girl friend remove shingles on her roof and put shakes in. Boy, was that NOT fun, and we were fairly unproductive. Her bro and his friend did a lot of the work. We clung on to the peaks on the roof for dear life... She took out a section of the railing on her bedroom's balcony, and nearly took out her own life thanks to that roof... Me = not a fan of being up on any roof, nevermind a 3 storey roof that is, I think, something like 8/12 or maybe 9/12 on most parts with hips and valleys everywhere you look. We've been making patchwork (pink of course) for floor cushions... (the bags of feathers were left over from a sofa reupholstering episode-the sofa frame cost £10 the feathered cushions from a factory outlet)we had to rebag them in the garden, we sneezed for a day or two. They're the bums and hobos Go-faster-stripes?? Like the stupid racing stripes you seem to see on every Sunfire and Cavalier, with quite a few of the Dodge Dakotas/Rams fitting into the 'gay' category... Maybe your slugs are just trying a bit too hard... Just get a hedgehog. Name him Sonic and let him have some fun for a bit They're cute anyways (the hedgehog, not the slugs) |
