Default kids infections-parents infections

As new granparents we spend as much time as we can kissing ,being
dribbled on and being close to our 2 baby grandchildren (9 months)
They are both at daycare and come home regularly with coughs and
runny noses-ok part of the development of their imune systems- We have
had many more coughs and colds than usual this year and they are
persisting for weeks on end.

Is this due to our age or are the babies infecting us and their
parents-has anybody else come across this .
Not much we can do but I will feel less guilty about giving my
granchildren my colds

Tony (newgranparent)
