Thank you, Ilse. My sister did miscarry yesterday morning. I did print off
your original post and gave it to her several days ago. I also appreciate
your advice to me. I'll do my best to be there for her.

OMG!! I'm so sorry for her, and for you (((Joy & sister))). This is a big
hit for the whole family. If she feels like talking, she's welcome to
contact me. Today I was in a particularly poetic mood (a first for me),
here's what I scribbled down, it's a poem of hope. Feel free to share.

Fall

Leaves are falling
With them my pain
In colourful veils
They dance
To the invisible
Music of the wind
Lost memories
Of what was
And will be again

Tears are falling
My sorrow leaves
An emptiness inside
Winter snow
Cold white blanket
Of forgetfulness
Cover my grief
To decay and feed
My hope of renewal

Leaves are falling
Colourful tears
Promises
A shimmer of spring
Sparkling in the sun
Joyful children
Dancing and twirling
Hear their laughter
Filling my heart

Oh, Ilse, thank you so much for your thoughts and hugs. My sister is
without any internet access right now, so she's been on the phone quite a
bit. She has been talking and has found several people she was unaware of
who have also experienced a loss. I will share the poem with her. It is
very beautiful and poignant.
