Smithfield Foods Has rehired Illegal aliens after the ICE crackdown

immigrants it had recently fired, Americans for Legal Immigration PAC
(ALIPAC) is calling for the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
to raid its North Carolina facility. Located in Tar Heel, NC, the
company is reported to knowingly hire illegal aliens.


The head of ALIPAC William Gheen said Monday: "We applaud Smithfield
Foods Incorporated's initial efforts to screen out illegal alien
employees. But, they have rehired these illegal aliens who are using
fraudulent documents and stolen identities. Smithfield Foods Inc. is
now knowingly violating federal law. We want ICE to come and do the job
taxpayers pay them to do. We want ICE and Smithfield Packing to remove
all illegal aliens from their workforce immediately."

Smithfield Foods, the world's largest hog slaughtering plant,
recently fired 75 of its employees for providing the company with faked
Social Security numbers and false documentation. After the firings,
Latino workers walked off the job and Smithfield Foods rehired the
illegal workers.

Too bad. If ALIPAC has evidence of a crime, ICE ought to be investigating
that.

Of course, it's always possible that ALIPAC didn't actually have any
