Default 'rig' to hold baby "over the shoulder"

at night the only position which keeps my baby happy is 'over the
shoulder' burping position.but i have to keep her there for *hours*
till she (6kg) finally dozes off.

i hope this doesnt sound silly but have you ever seen a product out
there best described as a chair for a baby, molded in the form of an
adult chest & shoulder which allows baby to stay in 'over the shoulder
position' ? where could i look for something like this? i am so
desperate i am thinking of trying to sew a stuffed up one but i dont
know how to sew. thx

not seen a chair or anything, but have seen pictures of it done with
slings or wraps, try googling for baby wearing sites, there is one that
is pretty big with forums and what not, something like thebabywearer.com

Cheers

Try a baby wrap. A wrap works good for this, as they're very easy to use in
ways to fit what you need - in your case, baby is only happy and content if
she's almost hanging off of your shoulder. Hold baby there and then if you
google for baby wearing (iirc, one site is www.wearyourbaby.com) and modify
the examples to suit you and your baby. I just wrapped DD2 on my shoulder
like this and she's just over 18lbs. I've also found a wrap is so easy to
just kind of make it up if you need to.

Actually, iirc, there's a thread at www.thebabywearer.com that
describes this particular hold, I believe using 2 ring slings. I
remember becuase while I saw it far too late to help me, it was one
position I always wanted to use and couldn't figure out!

Ok, found it...

HTH!
