Default Odent on forceps (also: midwives 'prisoners of protocol')

FREE ASSOCIATION OBSTETRIC EMERGENCY! (PROF. YOUNG, see below) In ACOG's
Shoulder Dystocia Drill video, American MDs purport to tell each other how
to allow birth canals to open maximally when shoulders get stuck - which
means MDs know they are CLOSING birth canals most of the time. The kicker
is that their method of allowing the birth canal to open actually keeps it
closed!

ODENT ON FORCEPS

"Forceps have their place only in museums."
--Michel Odent, MD quoted by Jane Feinmann 23Feb04
http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/hea...p?story=494271

"Why...forceps deliveries...not been eliminated by the C-section?"
--FREE ASSOCIATION BOOKS promoting Michel's new book...

Attention DAVID FELTON (THE INDEPENDENT) via email addresses listed below...
Please enquire regarding Jane Feinmann's article. See below.

Attention FREE ASSOCIATION BOOKS ) - please forward this to
MICHEL ODENT, MD...

MDs and MBs are CAUSING cephalopelvic disproportion (see below) then
performing cesarean sections BEcause of cephalopelvic disproportion!

Hopefully Michel Odent's new book, "The Caesarean" mentions this fact...

If it doesn't, maybe FREE ASSOCIATION BOOKS could make sure it does?

Who owns Free Association Books? It's difficult to tell from the
fabooks.com website.

PROF. ROBERT M. YOUNG writes: "Free Association Books has been taken away
from its original owners, staff and supporters by a series of questionable
manoeuvres on the part of new shareholders who did not wish to follow the
founders' vision and who manipulated things and broke solemn undertakings
which resulted in their being able to take over the company and expel its
originators."
http://www.shef.ac.uk/uni/academic/N...s/pap105h.html

MICHEL ODENT, MD (a "Free Association Books Resource") was recently quoted
in THE INDEPENDENT (a British newspaper):

"Many midwives today...are prisoners of protocol..."
--Michel Odent, MD quoted by Jane Feinmann 23Feb04
http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/hea...p?story=494271

Hospital midwives (most midwives) are prisoners of bizarre OBSTETRIC
protocol.

CNMwives *promote* bizarre obstetric protocol that involves routine closure
of birth canals up to 30%! (See my discussion of CNMwifery Prof. Helen
Varney below.)

CNMwives promote routine closure of birth canals even though MDs INDIRECTLY
admit the obvious crime on video!

As noted above, in ACOG's Shoulder Dystocia Drill video, American MDs
purport to tell each other how to allow birth canals to open maximally when
shoulders get stuck - which means MDs know they are CLOSING birth canals
most of the time. The kicker is that their method of allowing the birth
canal to open actually keeps it closed!

See ACOG birth crime video evidence

Michel Odent, MD knows that placing women on their sacra (semisitting and
dorsal) closes the birth canal...

Michel told me in person years ago that the "fetus ejection reflex" gets
women OFF their sacra - and that the reflex happens if women are allowed to
labor feeling unobserved.

I had approached him on a break at a presentation he gave in Monterey, CA
and told him that his fellow MDs were closing birth canals.

Attention DAVID FELTON of THE INDEPENDENT (UK): Please enquire...

Assuming that Michel Odent, MD does indeed know that placing women on their
sacra (semisitting and dorsal) closes the birth canal...

Why is there *nothing* about MDs, MBs and midwives closing birth canals, in
Jane Feinmann's INDEPENDENT article? (Incidentally, Jane's article mentions
Michel's "fetus ejection reflex.")

Did Michel just forget to tell Jane that MDs, MBs and midwives are closing
birth canals?

Did Michel ALSO forget to tell Jane how EASY it is for women to OPEN their
birth canals the "extra" up to 30%?

With MDs, MBs and midwives senselessly closing birth canals, shouldn't this
information be in EVERY article about birth - until MDs, MBs and midwives
stop their grisly birth tomfoolery?

PREGNANT WOMEN: It's true: MDs, MBs and midwives (esp. CNMwives) are
closing birth canals up to 30%. To allow your birth canal to OPEN the
"extra" up to 30% simply roll onto your side as you push your baby out. Or
go to hands-and-knees, or kneel or stand or squat - LOTS of "alternative"
delivery positions allow the birth canal to open the "extra" up to 30%.

Talk to your MD, MB or midwife about this today, noting especially for
her/him the following "alternative" delivery position WARNING... Some MDs,
MBs and midwives allow women to labor in "alternative" positions but then
move them to semisitting (close their birth canals!) for the actual
delivery! Make sure your MD, MB, or midwife promises not to do this!

NHS DIGRESSION - Britain's NHS/National Health Service...

Jane Feinmann notes that a British government investigation is reportedly
advising that NHS not recommend cesareans more widely, as in,

"[T]he NHS, widely accused of promoting [unnecessary birth] intervention, is
being kicked into line. A two-year government investigation to settle the
long-simmering row over whether Caesarean sections should be used more
widely looks set to recommend that they shouldn't..."
http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/hea...p?story=494271

ODENT ON FORCEPS (again)

Jane quotes Michel Odent, MD suggesting that since OBs remain insensitive to
women's birthing needs, forceps should be put in museums and more cesareans
*should* be performed, as in,

"'Forceps have their place only in museums...As for the NHS, it's now or
never for it to face up to women's birthing needs. Without truly sensitive
obstetric care being available, women are fully justified in insisting on
safe, surgical childbirth [cesareans]...'"

Paraphrasing Michel, every interview with the media is a "now or never"
OPPORTUNITY: WHY didn't Michel tell Jane that MDs, MBs and midwives are
closing birth canals?!

NHS's JASON GARDOSI, MD...

NHS's Jason Gardosi, MD also knows that semisitting delivery closes the
birth canal...

"...the weight of the mother is in part taken on the sacrum which is
therefore pushed upwards, thus decreasing the antero-posterior diameter of
the pelvic outlet..."
--British National Health Service/NHS West Midlands Perinatal
Institute/WMPI, Jason Gardosi, MD, Director
http://www.wmpi.net/reviews/oe/oe_shoulder_dystocia.htm

NHS's Jason Gardosi, MD once tried to "scientifically" *cover-up* the
obstetric crime: Gardosi and colleagues conducted a "randomised controlled
trial of squatting" where nobody squatted - and got it published in The
Lancet. Squatting allows sacroiliac motion and Gardosi et al.'s "squatting"
women were semirecumbent in Gardosi's Birth Cushion - specifically designed
to allow sacroiliac motion - which is presumably why Gardosi et al. were
allowed to call their study a "squatting" study. Semirecumbency
(semisitting) normally DENIES sacroiliac motion - keeps the birth canal
closed up to 30%.

I discuss Gardosi further in Sarah Key's huge balls (also: Kids can SQUAT
motionless for
hours)...
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/chiro-list/message/2084

(Sarah is occasional physiotherapist to HRH Prince of Wales.)

BTW, Gardosi (and obstetrician pal Malcolm Griffiths) helped get me censored
from OBGYN-List an international obstetrician listserv for suggesting that
obstetricians should stop closing birth canals!

Fortunately, two of my OBGYN-List posts were archived before I was
censored...

ODENT'S NEW BOOK...

Jane concludes her article in THE INDEPENDENT with a plug for Michel's new
book...

"Michel Odent's 'The Caesarean' is published on 1 April by Free Association
Books (Fabooks.com, £14.95)..."

See also: http://www.fabooks.com/book.php?id=381

HEY! Maybe Michel's BOOK will tell women that MDs, MBs, and midwives are
knowingly closing birth canals up to 30%!

Then again, maybe Michel TOLD Jane that MDs, MBs and midwives are knowingly
closing birth canals...

Maybe JANE forgot to say something!?

Stranger things...

With MDs, MBs and midwives senselessly closing birth canals, shouldn't every
BIRTH BOOK mention the routine birth canal closure - at least until MDs, MBs
and midwives stop their grisly obstetric tomfoolery?

Hopefully Michel Odent's new book, "The Caesarean" mentions this fact...

If it doesn't, hopefully Michel's publisher, Free Association Books will
place an errata sheet in each book shipped - and change the text as soon as
possible.

Thanks for reading everyone.

Sincerely,

Todd

Dr. Gastaldo

PS1 FACT: By using semisitting (and dorsal) MDs are *causing* "fetopelvic
disproportion" even as they themselves say (quoting the 2001 edition of
Williams Obstetrics):

"[u]se of oxytocin...is appropriate only after assessment to exclude
fetopelvic disproportion." (p. 474)

OXYTOCIN CAN KILL...

MDs *say* they are only giving APPROPRIATE dosages of oxytocin now - which
is good because...

"With an inappropriate dose of oxytocin, the pregnant uterus may contract so
violently as to kill the fetus, rupture itself, or both..." (p. 323)

Some babies still die following oxytocin use...

ALL dosages of oxytocin are inappropriate with the birth canal senselessly
closed up to 30%!

You don't close the birth canal then chemically whip the uterus to contract
violently.

Again,

"With an inappropriate dose of oxytocin, the pregnant uterus may contract so
violently as to kill the fetus, rupture itself, or both..." (p. 323)

PS2 THE SILENT PROTOCOL...

Again quotinig Jane quoting Michel:

"Many midwives today...are prisoners of protocol..."
http://news.independent.co.uk/uk/hea...p?story=494271

I'm assuming Michel did not tell Jane that MDs, MBs and midwives are closing
birth canals...

Michel isn't the only one observing the silent protocol...

See also: ICAN and The Pink Kit: a dark side (Wintergreen is wrong)
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group...t/message/2279

As indicated above, CNMwives not only observe "the silent protocol" - they
PROMOTE routine closure of the birth canal!

A few years back, Yale CNMwifery Prof. Helen Varney (and her publisher!)
ignored my pleas and promoted semisitting - routine closure of the birth
canal.

Varney's 2004 edition STILL promotes semisitting - routine closure of the
birth canal!

See UNM CNMwife: 'If a woman panics at any time...'
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group...t/message/2320

As I've noted for CNMwifery Prof. Varney and her publisher...

Clinical and radiographic evidence that MDs are closing birth canals has
been in the medical literature since early last century.

See PhD husband of a CNM...
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group...t/message/2321

Again, thanks for reading everyone.

Sincerely,

Todd
