Default Childproofing checklist?

Emily is starting to be alot more mobile, though not crawling yet. She
scoots around though! I was wondering if anyone knows of an online
checklist that covers most of the basics. I know the obvious stuff, but I
want to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Default Childproofing checklist?

Basically I waited to see what would be a problem and went from there. For
example, my girls never bothered electrical outlets, but when I babysat for
my nephew while my sister worked, he would not leave them alone. I put
covers over them.

I worked with the "lethal or precious" rule and anything that came into
either of thsoe categories, I moved. In the end, we used two child proofing
devices - the drawer where my passport, the chequebook and a few other
important documents live and the laundry door had a gate across it because
the kitty litter was in there. There was also a catch on the laundry
cupboard - but that was to keep the cats out!

I figured that the world isn't childproof, so I did a LOT of redirection.
Plus, most of our furniture isn't suited to child proofing. But I really
think it will depend on your kid's personality, and if she's the kind of kid
who will take *No* for an answer.

The only thing we have done is put edges on the coffee table as ds had
a tendancy to bang his head, and socket covers as he likes to play with
the switches. We have a stairgate to the kitchen as there is a step
down to concrete tiles. He has just learnt to climb the stairs so that
will get gated too. Otherwise we just move stuff out of reach and tell
him no when he tries to play with tv wires. He has learnt either to
duck to get things under the table or ask (whine or 'uh and point') for
us to get it.

Ok, Thanks. I guess I remember when my first was little (9 yrs ago) we did
minimal changes and she survived! I figured the outlets would need covering
and the stairs need to be blocked. Emily responds well to NO.
