WARNING:

Anyone tempted to take this article seriously is
advised that the Washington Times is NOT a
newspaper in the usual sense.

Rather, it is an extreme right-wing propaganda
sheet wholly owned and operated by Rev.
Sun Myung Moon's Unification Church.

Moon, in case you don't know, is a South Korean
billionaire and sect leader notorious for his claim
that he is THE reincarnation of Jesus Christ, and for
marrying thousands of his followers in huge
mass-wedding ceremonies in sports stadia.

He is also a longtime suspected CIA asset and has
for years been a reliable contributor to extreme
right-wing causes.

All of the above is easily verifiable from numerous
sources accessible on the Internet.

The veracity of anything published in the Washington
Times, therefore, should be regarded with the same
level of skepticism with which intelligent people view
any other kind of propaganda.

Yours for truth in advertising. . . .

Well, now we have the occurrence of 3 Metal detectors and an X ray machine
proposed.

Wonder how much those metal detectors cost?

The X ray machine is for BELONGINGS OF THE HIGH SCHOOL KIDS.

Millions for security technology, let alone the staff required to man the
machines.

Incredible. And these are STUDENTS, not terrorists.

Note: Not the Wash. Times. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Yes, shooting in school would be considered as "generally unsafe." And
your point is what, Ms. Fern?

Forget all that. Fern's post said that schooting in school is generally
unsafe. I'll accept that. I've always prefered schools have no
shootings over schools that have shootings.

I appreciate your post below, but I doubt the Fern we now have on the ng
will understand what you have written.

And for what it's worth, this wasn't even a news report but an
op-ed piece.

In any event, the connnection between this op-ed piece about law
enforcement in Washington D.C. schools and the spanking issue is about as
obscure as a connection between any two phenomena can be; unless, of
course, Fern wants to post evidence that the unspanked children in D.C.
schools are disproportionately the ones committing crimes: something she
will never be able to do.

But the problem is anti-spanking zealotS like yourself have been claiming
that getting rid of cp will reduce crime. Washing DC had outlawed cp
in the schools but the crime rate has not declined!
