Banana-pillar
There are definitely easier ways to feed, but it sounds like she had
fun, and that's worth alot. KC BTW she's very cute. Phoebe & Allyson wrote in message ... Scheduling couldn't be worked out for tomorrow, so Grandma and Grandpa came over this afternoon for the first solid feeding. They wanted to give her banana, and that was fine with us. They were really so much more excited about it than we were, so we just let them have at it. I figured they'd mash up the banana, but they just gave her about half of it whole. She put the banana in her mouth, and bit off a huge chunk. It was so shocking to her that she let it all fall right back out. It must have tasted good because she picked the chunks back up and gnawed on them some more. Every time she'd get a tiny bit broken off, she'd make a horrible disgusted face and swallow it right down. By the time she was done "eating," both she and the high chair were permeated with squished banana. I suspect she ate a teaspoon's worth. (None of which came from a spoon; spooned banana was spit right back out.) Since the whole thing involved an hour and a bath and 3 banana-drenched grownups, it might be awhile before she gets solids again. Pictures at http://tinyurl.com/y1r5 Phoebe |

I plan on banana being Zoe's first food (er, ignoring the bite of sweet potato she had on thanksgiving that made her cry). Now I know to dress her in ... a diaper! Although if she reacts to the banana like she did the bite of sweet potato, she'll be clean as a whistle. Leigh |

Moo Boy's real name is Toffee (I know, but there you go, so many people said we couldn't we had to) We refer to him as The Moo mostly though he is sometimes called Hoola. Caterpillar is a beauty, I'm impresed with her banana eating, she looks so grown up. I think we'll try banana next week. teapot and the Moo |

Awwww... She's adorable. We tried Bug on banana today, but she wasn't too interested. She'd been off food for the past few days until tonight, when she once again ate her cereal with gusto. Babies are mysterious. Kate and the Bug, June 8 2003 |

Maybe it was too many "fee's", not too many "f's" per se g! Our last name has two "r's" in it, and when we told my cousin and his wife we'd named our daughter Aurora, her first comment was "Wow, that has a lot of "r's" in it." It hadn't even occurred to me until she mentioned it, though, but she's right. Of course, my first name combined with our last has just as many "r's", and I later realized that their son's first name/middle name combination has 4 "d's" in it, so I think sometimes we alliterate a lot without being aware of it. Repeating whole syllables, on the other hand, sounds obviously weird or cutesy! -- Be well, Barbara (Julian [6], Aurora [4], and Vernon's [a quarter to 2] mom) This week's special at the English Language Butcher Shop: "Be prepare to stop" -- CalTrans sign Daddy: You're up with the chickens this morning.
