Default Show of hands - GD?

Just wondering, who has gestational diabetes around here? (Or regular
diabetes for that matter.) Just curious, feel free not to say so if you
dont want to!

Last time i hung aroudn one of the diabetes NG but this time there seems to
be a few with GD here. including one guru - ericka.... We could almost
have a sub newsgroup!

thanks.

Just to be pedantic, I'm neither a guru nor have I had GD (well,
at least as far as I know, since I refuse to be tested ;-) It's just
one of my hot button issues because I believe there's such shoddy
medicine being practiced with respect to GD/testing/treatment/etc.

Best wishes,
Ericka

Would you settle for wise sage?

I was extremely grateful for the information you shared with me when I
was trying to decide whether or not to do the GD test with #2.

I'm glad it was of use to you. I know it's
controversial to some, but it's just one of those hot button
issues for me.

Best wishes,
Ericka

IF... (HOT BUTTON ISSUES)

Ericka Kammerer wrote of her views/info regarding gestational diabetes:

"I know it's controversial to some, but it's just one of those hot button
issues for me."

IF...

If people mentioned that OBs are closing birth canals up to 30% as often as
(or everytime!) OBs mention gestional diabetes and fear of big babies and
shoulder dystocia...

More women might be insisting that OBs STOP closing birth canals.

And I do mean CLOSING. To a baby with a stuck shoulder - to a baby with its
head a deep shade of blue sticking out mom's vagina - the birth canal is
indeed closed and OBs are KEEPING birth canals closed when shoulders get
stuck.

Readers might still be able to purchase a video of the obvious felony...

See ACOG birth crime video evidence
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group...t/message/2300

OBs are also keeping birth canals closed as they whip uteri with oxytocin
and Cytotec and as they reach in and pull with forceps and vacuums...

And then there are the babies temporarily asphyxiated by medical doctors
immediately amputating the natural oxygenation/transfusion diad (mother and
placenta) - as they run across the room to resuscitate the baby!

See Babies gasping: Michigan sheriffs to do "child abuse raid" on hospitals?
http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group...t/message/2618

Sheesh - talk about "hot button" issues...

Thanks for reading.

Sincerely,

Todd

Dr. Gastaldo

PS I thank Ericka for not being bashful about mentioning that OBs are
closing birth canals up to 30%.

Yep. Todd, I would guess *everybody* on this newsgroup who has
the intelligence to read the written word *knows* what your hot
buttons are. If they don't, they need serious psychotherapy!

There is a flaw in your logic.

As unlikely as it might seem, there are people who can read who have never
read a Gastaldogram - either because they are new or they never opened one
of my posts or they just kill-filed me on sight (which is the beauty of the
usenet).

I've had it twice. The first time diagnosed at 28 or 29 weeks and the 2nd
time at 12 weeks when I was having twins.

That's strange: my midwife gave me a 2 weeks notice at week 30, because she
says that after week 32, false positives occur very often.

While I agree with Ericka on this and did not take the test in the end, I
wonder about your diagnostic, being that late in your pregnancy...
