My hip/leg goes numb!
This is weird. For 2 weeks now I have been having a problem with my right
leg going numb from the hip joint to a few inches above my knee. At first, I didn't realize it was happening until I was out shopping and I slapped my hip (sort of a fidgety, restless gesture) and realized "Hey! I didn't feel that on my hip!" I started poking and sure enough, everything felt numb and icy prickly. I thought it was because I was on my feet for hours trying to keep relatives entertained, shopping. So I started noticing that now whenEVER I go out- it doesn't seem to happen at home!- and have walked for about 15-30 minutes, my hip goes numb just like that. I have no feeling in it and when I press it it feels -- different from an arm or something going asleep. It feels very cold and tingly, and almost seems to burn, like an icy hot feeling at the same time. It goes away when I get back home and off my feet. I told my OB. She said it sounds like the baby is resting on a nerve. It is really bothersome and I can't figure out why it's ONLY when I go out walking, such as shopping or to run errands. At home I can be on my feet most of a day and it doesn't happen. |

I have been told by my doula and doctor that it is completely normal and that it is just the baby resting on nerve. It's no biggie and will go back to normal when baby is born.
