Vernon's word for nursing is "side", only it comes out sounding more like
"tside." I find it very charming.

Kivi says "Deess" most of the time, but she learned to say "O-side"
(Other side) when she wants to switch sides, and sometimes she doesn't
bother with Deess, but says "o-side" to nurse. It's kind of cute.

DS is only just starting to recognize his feelings as being upset,
angry, happy, but I have noticed that when he is really angry he
will come to me for a hug and wants me to hold him. Very similar
to when he has hurt himself. I just tell him it's OK and that he
feels angry, but mommy still loves him, and usually after a minute
or so he settles down and goes back to normal routine.

Kivi started hitting out of anger when she was about 16 month. We
don't hit her, so evidently she figured it out for herself. So when
she hits (which is fortunately getting more rare), we always said
"Gentle hands, Kivi, even when you are angry". So now, if she's angry
and starts to swat us, she yells "Ang-gee! Ang-gee!"

Aside from the typical crying, tantruming 2 year old stuff when Emma is
feeling 'needy' for whatever reason she'll tell me "I need to snuggle
you."
What is cute is when she is trying to comfort her 1 month old brother,
Ben.
"It's ok, Ben. Mommy is right here. We love you Ben. You're just fine,
Ben. Just fine."
She pretty much says exactly what I say and in the same tone. It's
absolutely the cutest thing. She
also sings the "ben song" which she doesn't quite get the words right. I
really wish I had a working video camera
sometimes.
