The good thing is taht Heeleys have been banned in many places. All of the
malls in my area say no Heeleys, schools, many of the big box stores and a
few days ago I saw a sign in the post office (mmm... I have a feeling that
was incident related)
My kids want them, so far I have said no, but I do think I'll get them quad
skates in the spring.

They're *annoying*! Our school won't allow them either.
While holiday shopping I saw so many kids with them, coasting through
over-crowded stores. I rolled my eyes over the fact that they
couldn't be bothered to actually *walk* the 3-step distance they
managed before having to 'brake' before hitting someone.

Roller Girl by Dire Straits always ran through my head whenever I saw them.
But I never saw anyone who was in anyone's way. They were able to ride
without impeding anyone else.

I have seen that too, but I thought it a bit much in a crowded store.

Did they interfere with others' shopping?

Frankly, I don't see where that would matter. A boy cut me off in
front of my shopping cart one time. My view on them is they're a
nuisance unless they're in an open area.

Yeah - the kids get carried away and whip around people, and are prone to run
into things.

Local grocery stores have banned them.
