I agree with the Katie/Katrina thing. We probably wouldn't give
her a nickname, and if we did it would be Katya, but it is too
close to Katie. I think I have him resonably sold on Rhiannon, of
course that may change in the next 10 minutes.

Well, I'll keep my fingers crossed for Rhiannon, then.

I never thought about the Katie/Katrina thing. To me they're too similar.

I like Rhiannon best, after Katrina.

We really *should* have a baby together, Sophie. We'd *definitely* be able
to agree on a name g!

Aurora (in the bathroom with her dad)--"It looks like an elephant, Daddy."
Me (later)--"You should feel flattered."

All opinions expressed in this post are well-reasoned and insightful.
Needless to say, they are not those of my Internet Service Provider, its

Well, it's okay by me, but it really doesn't fit my 6-letter name pattern. I
figured you'd let me have a Helena, though g!

Ok.. My DH is gonna be deploying this week so he definitly won't be her when
this DD arrives. All the sudden I'm terrified I won't be able to fill out
the birth certificate paperwork because we haven't agreed on a name yet.

Here's our short list. I've won the middle name battle, it doesn't look
like I'm going to win the first name battle, so while none of these names
are my favorite, they're what we agree on so far.

Haley
Riley
Brianna (yay, no U, Sophie!)
Katrina

Any opinions?

Denise

Definitely Katrina. Haley would be my second choice, but I prefer the
spelling "Hailey".

I like Katrina best of the four; actually, I like Katrina a lot.
But since you already have a Katie, that might be a bit confusing.
Even if you're careful to call her Katrina all the time, other people
(or she herself) might shorten it to Katie or Kat.

I agree with Sara on this one. When I picked Katrina, I didn't know Denise
had a Katie. As far as I'm concerned, Katie, Katherine, Katrina, and all
alternative spelling are the same name, so to me, it would be like naming
two kids the same thing. I couldn't do that.

Ohhh - that changes my mind to.
DD's abbreviated (and most commonly used name) is Kate or Katie (or
sometimes farty-pants - but only when we are feeling silly) and so that has
knocked a lot of my other fav names off the new list (Katerina, Cathleen,
Katya).
Friends of my parents called one of their sons William and another Billy
(duh!) but they never got confused because one was *always* called Will and
the other *always* called Billy.
I like Barbara's suggestion on Rhianna, but otherwise I couldn't pick.

I have a stereotype for these names. So I don't like them too much. (of
course that is my own problem that I stereotype names)

Brianna (yay, no U, Sophie!)

I kinda like it, but it is too unusual for me

What?! Where do you live?

Katrina

I like this name a lot. I also have a stereotype for Katrinas But a
real good one. I always think of Katrina as a pretty girl, who is so
nice but cool at the same time.

Any opinions?

Denise
