It's Plain Wrong
It's Plain Wrong
Byavid J. Willmott Sr. 05/07/2008 http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?n... 602485&rfi=6 Texas is a long way from New York. We don't live there and we are not ruled by the government but we are appalled by the obvious violation of our Constitution. There is a religious sect known as the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a breakaway sect from the Mormon Church. The sect has been growing; it occupies a huge compound and is basically a self-contained community. The sect is believed to allow men to have multiple wives. Polygamy was outlawed during the 1800s. In early April, a Texas social service agency received an anonymous telephone call from a 16-year-old female who alleged she was being kept against her will in the compound and had one child and was pregnant with another. Based upon this anonymous phone call and no other evidence, Texas officials enacted a Waco-style raid on the compound, complete with armored carriers and an army of soldiers in riot gear. There was no resistance offered by the people in the compound. The officials of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints opened their doors and let the intruders in. We were not there but from the reports that we have read and the news stories we have seen, the congregation was treated shabbily and they were threatened and intimidated. The women and children were separated from the men. The men did not fight back or offer any resistance. The women and children were bused to encampments where they were treated more as prisoners than detainees. The children were then separated from their mothers and the mothers were sent back home to the compound. Not one person was charged with a misdemeanor, a felony or an assault nor where there any verified allegations of child abuse or harm to a child. The state has just completed swabbing all the children in order to conduct DNA tests to determine who the parents are. The children - all 450 of them - have been shipped off to foster care or to group homes throughout Texas. The parents are beside themselves. They are confused and the parents, both the men and the women, want their children home. Where is the Civil Liberties Union? From what we have seen, this is a wanton violation of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Where are the children's protective services? They are allowing the children to be taken away from good, God-fearing parents who are struggling to bring up their children in what they consider to be a proper manner. Where is the liberal press that is always looking for another angle to tear the government down? As we have said, it's a long way between Texas and New York but from what we have read and seen, there is a grave injustice taking place. And why not? Editor's Note: The writer of this editorial is a Roman Catholic and does not pretend to understand the ways of the Latter Day Saints or the Mormon Church but he does support every American's right to practice their religion as they see fit. An Inconvenient Truth about Child Protective Services, Foster care, and the Child Protection "INDUSTRY" Child Protective Services Does not protect children... It is sickening how many children are subject to abuse, neglect and even killed at the hands of CPS. every parent should read the free handbook from connecticut dcf watch... http://www.connecticutdcfwatch.com Number of Cases per 100,000 children in the US These numbers come from The National Center on Child Abuse and Neglect in Washington. (NCCAN) Recent numbers have increased significantly for CPS Perpetrators of Maltreatment Physical Abuse CPS/Foster care 160, biological Parents 59 Sexual Abuse CPS/Foster care 112, biological Parents 13 Neglect CPS/Foster care 410, biological Parents 241 Medical Neglect CPS/Foster care 14 biological Parents 12 Fatalities CPS/Foster care 6.4, biological Parents 1.5 Imagine that, 6.4 children die at the hands of the very agencies that are supposed to protect them and only 1.5 at the hands of parents per 100,000 children. CPS perpetrates more abuse, neglect, and sexual abuse and kills more children then parents in the United States. If the citizens of this country hold CPS to the same standards that they hold parents too. No judge should ever put another child in the hands of ANY government agency because CPS nationwide is guilty of more harm and death than any human being combined. CPS nationwide is guilty of more human rights violations and deaths of children then the homes from which they were removed. When are the judges going to wake up and see that they are sending children to their death and a life of abuse when children are removed from safe homes based on the mere opinion of a bunch of social workers. THIS IS AMERICA'S HIDDEN HOLOCAUST Currently Child Protective Services violates more constitutionally guaranteed liberties & civil rights on a daily basis then all other agencies combined, Including the National Security agency/Central intelligence agency wiretaping programs… THE CORRUPT BUSINESS OF CHILD PROTECTIVE SERVICES BY: Nancy Schaefer Senator, 50th District of Georgia http://www.senatornancyschaefer.com/...s.php?filter=6 This is Child Protection? Some experts estimate that about 30% of the children in care have marked or severe emotional problems. Various studies have indicated that children and young people in foster care tend to have limited education and job skills, perform poorly in school compared to children who are not in foster care, lag behind in their education by at least one year, and have lower educational attainment than the general population. *Casey Family Programs National Center for Resource Family Support 80 percent of prison inmates have been through the foster care system. The highest ranking federal official in charge of foster care, Wade Horn of the Department of Health and Human Services, is a former child psychologist who says the foster care system is a giant mess and should just be blown up. http://abcnews.go.com/print?id=2017991 Four rigorous studies have found that at least 30 percent of America’s foster children could be home right now if their parents had decent housing. This study found thousands of children already in foster care who would have done better had child protection agencies not taken them away in the first place.
