Has anyone found an affective way of killing nits? Would really appreciate
some help here.

Well... wash the clothing and linens in very hot water... then put any
pillows and unwashible items in very well sealed plastic bags for several
days to suffocate them.

Also, use a very fine comb to get out the eggs...

Also, for over the counter products, consult with your local pharmacist.

Smear hair thoroughly with any oil, wrap in plastic wrap and
leave it overnight. Wash out in the morning - use a mix of a bit
of shampoo and warm water for the first wash, then several washes
with shampoo to get rid oif the rest of the oil.

Hot combs, curling irons, straightener plates, etc. will kill
them before they hatch, but you have to comb with a "nit
removing" comb.

When businesses invoke the "protection of consumers," it's a lot like
politicians invoking morality and children - grab your wallet and/or
your kid and run for your life.

The most common reason that people have difficulty getting rid of nits
is because they don't have them to begin with. Dandruff and hair casts
are commonly mistaken for nits.

I know exactly what you are going through. My 3 kids had them and am
still having a hard time with it all. Used the Nix 3 or 4 times, they
say that they are becoming immune to them. Went and bought an
expensive comb to use and still am using it everyday to make sure that
they are not coming back. My youngest had developed a reation to the
Nix and her head had become infected. So needless to say, its been a
long and hard rough road.
I have read alot of articles on head lice and how to get rid of them
and to prevent them. Not alot work, i have found though, because the
Nix is so strong, and i have read stories about the stuff, i tried
using the conditioner method. Its a little time consuming as well,
but it seem to have worked. Just pile on the conditioner to the hair,
let it sit and then comb out the nits. It makes it easier on you
childs head and it the nits come out alot easier as well. If there
is any live lice, they become numb, it seems to make them fall asleep
or something. They appear dead, but there not. Makes it easier to
catch them too.
So good luck with your troubles, i know exactly what your going
through.
