A weaning discussion

Well, I'm starting to discuss weaning with dd. She's still nursing
a lot, and, frankly, I'm getting tired of it. So, we've been talking a
lot lately about whether she's a little girl, a big girl, etc. Right
now, she seems to think she's a Little Big Girl. (She turns 3 yo in
April, btw) She's in the midst of a lot of things - potty training is
a part-time thing, she's got both a crib and a bed in her room (since
we moved in October) but she is sleeping in the crib (or sometimes with
me.)

So, yesterday on the way home, we discussed (again) that Little Big
Girls get Mommy Milk, but Big Big Girls don't. We have had prior
discussions, since I'm a Big Big Girl, and obviously, I don't get Mommy
Milk. So, she is starting to realize that eventually, she won't be
getting any, either.

The big milestone is, I gently suggested that maybe when she turned 3,
she would be a Big Big Girl and not need Mommy Milk anymore, and she
agreed with me. I have no idea if this idea is going to stick or not,
but I am actually rather excited that it might!

It was so much simpler with ds, since he weaned while I was pg. But
then I had to wean him off the pacifier - at least I don't have that
battle this time around!
