Child's First Right Is to Be Born, Insists Holy See

"Ms. MICHEL'LE" wrote in message ... Child's First Right Is to Be Born, Insists Holy See GENEVA, MARCH 29, 2007 (Zenit.org).- The Holy See has told the Human Rights Council in Geneva that "the first right of the child is to be born." Archbishop Silvano Tomasi, the Holy See's permanent observer to the U.N. offices and agencies in Geneva, made that point during a recent address to the watchdog council. Speaking to the fourth session of the recently established council, the papal representative recalled that "The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child attributes to the child the fundamental rights of a person; it recognizes the child to have the same equality and dignity as any adult person." "In many cases, due to lack of will and of resources, good legal provisions and public policies are not implemented, with grave consequences for children," the prelate affirmed, according to the Vatican Information Service. "They often become the first victims of famines and wars." On the other hand, the nuncio added, "To many children the right to life is denied; prenatal selection eliminates both babies suspected of having disabilities and female children simply because of their sex, and thus denies the equal and intrinsic value of disabled persons and of girls for their families and for society." Archbishop Tomasi last Friday underlined that "the first right of children is that of being born and educated in a welcoming and secure family environment where their physical, psychological and spiritual growth is guaranteed, their potential is developed, and where the awareness of personal dignity becomes the base for relating to others and for confronting the future." The permanent observer recalled: "The Catholic Church's over 300,000 social, caring and educational institutions work daily to ensure both a peace-oriented and creative education for children, and the development of their talents, and to provide the reintegration of abused and neglected children into their families, if possible, and into society. "To pursue the defense of their rights and the elimination of all forms of violence against them remains an institutional challenge for the international community. "Success will be reached if priority is given to the natural role of the family and to the public culture that recognizes that children too are full human persons." So you are saying that the rights of the child overcomes the rights of the woman carrying that child? Well what happens if the woman gives the child up, decides not to take care of that child, etc..? You pro-liars don't get it; not every child is a wanted child so get over it and accept it as a part of life because hey, women are not baby machines and I am not either! (I have my tubes snipped so there will be NO children). If one parent wants it but the other does not, does a child have the right to be born? Depending on who wants it and who doesn't. If the mother doesn't want the fetus and the father does, well, the father has no says in this. Which translates to no responsibility. If the mother wants it, and the father doesn't, well, father has no says to it but today, women don't ask for child support. And it doesn't snow in Canada either........ All the father is is just a sperm bank to them. Thus, the father has no liability regarding how the woman chooses to utilize such sperm. |

Sorry, ass hole the father, had the responsibly to not have sex with a woman that did not want to have his child. A man has the responsibility, to not have sex, or to protect himself from getting a STD by using a condom. Many men feel that a woman having sex with him becomes his property, and then becomes abusive, and controlling. A father's right to know his child, becomes a club to hold over the woman. An abortion gets his sorry ass out of her life. -- Posted via a free Usenet account from http://www.teranews.com |

An abortion gets his sorry ass out of her life. So does fatherhood begin when a child is born, when a child is conceived, or when the decision is made to have sex? The argument above would suggest fatherhood begins with the man's decision to have sex. But since the poster suggested abortion is a means to get a man out of a woman's life, at what point does motherhood begin? The argument above would suggest motherhood begins when the child is born. So the question becomes, why are there different standards for the starting points of fatherhood and motherhood? |
