Swimming post partum?
I'm now at three weeks post partum today and tomorrow we're going to Matt's
aunt's house. She has a swimming pool and it would be nice to be able to go swimming. However, is it safe at this point? Other then stitches lagging behind (grr) the lacerations are pretty much healed. Lochia has almost tapered off. It now comes in little spurts, like a very light period. I don't want to risk an infection or anything if it's not safe at this point though. What do you guys think? |

I swam in the ocean at exactly 3 weeks post partum and it was fine - I wasn't bleeding much if at all at the time either. Not sure about a pool (bacterial counts, chlorine, etc), but I think if you feel healed and not bleeding then go for it. cara |

I always thought it was okay if your lochia had stopped. My parents are visiting next weekend, staying at a hotel with a pool, but I don't think I'll be able to swim by then |
