(AP) - October 9, 2006 - An Erie woman remains in the county lockup this morning on charges she used her 4-week-old child as a weapon during a fight with her boyfriend. District Attorney Bradley Foulk says he's never, never, never seen a case like the one involving 27-year-old Chytoria Graham and her baby. Authorities say Graham swung the baby through the air and used the child to strike her boyfriend. It was not immediately clear if the man Graham allegedly attacked was the baby's father. Foulk says the baby was critically injured, but updated information on the child wasn't possible this morning because authorities haven't identified the Pittsburgh hospital where the baby was taken. Authorities removed four other children from Graham's home. http://kdka.com/local/local_story_282083311.html Erie Mom Beat Boyfriend With Baby, DA Says (KDKA/AP) ERIE Erie police say a baby is in serious but stable condition with a skull fracture after his mother allegedly used the 4-week-old child as a weapon during a fight with her boyfriend. Kane wrote In other words you have no comment on the "violation of parental rights" visited on this family by removal of the uninjured children, isn't that right? That would be a pretty wild, almost insane interpretation of exchange about party affiliation. But you are Kane. I was drawing attention to your claims that you are politically a conservative, while trying to insult others for being a Republican. This clearly indicates you are thinking from a liberal perspective. Kane wrote At least stand up for the man, since you think "men" are discriminated against, Greg? Didn't you have some procedural concerns about the reasoning for INSTANTLY removing the other kids from the father? Why should HE lose his children even temporarily, eh? That is a concern, of course. She had snapped and began throwing things at Deangelo Troop, 20, and didn't realise she had picked up her four-week-old son, Jarron. Police said she held him by the legs and swung him at his father, hitting the boy's head. Jarron suffered a fractured skull and bleeding in the brain. Mr Troop told the Erie Times-News Ms Graham never meant to hurt their child. "People are trying to make a big deal about it, but she did not do it on purpose. It was just a mistake," he said. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...101000286.html Woman Says She Didn't Mean to Hurl Baby The Associated Press Tuesday, October 10, 2006; 2:59 PM ERIE, Pa. -- A northwestern Pennsylvania woman accused of using her baby to batter her child's father said she didn't realize what she was doing until it was too late. Chyrotia Graham, 27, of Erie, told police she had been drinking when an argument with the child's father turned violent early Sunday morning, according to an affidavit filed to support Graham's arrest. Graham said she "snapped" and began grabbing things and throwing them at Deangelo Troop, 20, not realizing she had picked up her 4-week-old son, Jarron Troop, telling police she held the child by his legs and swung him at his father. Police had said they believed the woman held the baby by the midsection when she hit the man. Graham was being held in the Erie County Jail on Monday on $75,000 bond. She faces charges of aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and simple assault. Jarron, who was born Sept. 11, suffered a fractured skull and bleeding in the brain after the incident. The infant's head hit Deangelo, who had also fathered one of Graham's other four children. Deangelo told the Erie Times-News that Graham never meant to hurt their child. "People are trying to make a big deal about it, but she did not do it on purpose. ... It was just a mistake," he said. Defense attorney Alison Scarpitti, who was assigned by the Erie County Public Defender's Office to represent Graham, said Monday she could not comment because she had not met with Graham. Police said Troop punched Graham in the eye after she put the baby down, and police photos later showed her eye blackened and swollen shut. Authorities said there was no indication that Troop had hit his son but that they were reviewing the case to see if any charges might be warranted. "I don't anticipate any at this time," Erie police Capt. Frank Kwitowski said Monday. Officials at Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh declined to release information about the baby early Tuesday. He was flown to the hospital by helicopter after the incident. Authorities removed Graham's other children from the home. The Erie County Office of Children and Youth granted temporary custody to their maternal grandparents, Gloria Graham and Cornell Petty of Erie. |

I was drawing attention to your claims that you are politically a conservative, while trying to insult others for being a Republican. This clearly indicates you are thinking from a liberal perspective. Yes, you were, and using that to avoid and ignore the questions I put to you. As usual. Anyone can find in another's posts SOMETHING to use to avoid the issue, if they want to and are dishonest like you hooters. My perspective is not what should be in question here. Though feel free to point out precisely what you think indicated a "liberal" bioas or opinion in this matter and what I've said about it. Kane wrote At least stand up for the man, since you think "men" are discriminated against, Greg? Didn't you have some procedural concerns about the reasoning for INSTANTLY removing the other kids from the father? Nope. Until there is an investigation ... which at the point of the police showing up there had NOT been, removing the children insures that had HE been the perp he'd not have access to them to coach them to lie to protect him. In fact, knowing how cops think, and should, they were making sure there could be NO tainting of witnesses. That IS one of the prime reasons for removal of children in a child abuse case, Greg. But the you WANT the evidence tainted, since that's how criminals minds work and you seem to have one. At least many of your thought processes duplicate what I have seen in criminals I've worked with, both juvenile and adult. Why should HE lose his children even temporarily, eh? That is a concern, of course. Oh, bull****, Greg. When such and event happens and the police are called they cannot put a 24 hour guard on the kids and keep them in the home to protect them AND preserve the evidence. They remove. You'd be surprized how often the cops call up CPS to come pick up the kids, or deliver them themselves. Many even KNOW the shelter home foster parents and show up unannounced. Boy that causes som consternation...but then CPS workers are routinely assigned in rotation on-call status and have a state cell phone at the ready...and they are themselves trained investigators for the most part. But a story this titillating is rushed to press so fast there have been contradictions about Chytoria/Chyrotia and age of 20/27. Yep. That's the media for yah. Even the cops make mistakes. Having done so would you suggest they all butt out, and leave the child with the fractured skull and bleeding into the brain with mommy dearest? She was drunk and did something tragically stupid. Tell me about it. Did he do anything wrong? Mmmm....how would one know (like the detective assigned to the case) before some time investigating. Where should the children be during the investigation, and afterward while the cop, who has found that daddy may have been actively involved (as is often the case) tries to get a court order to remove/ No, the cop is given the descretion, as it should be to act in the best interests of the child. This is what YOU ****ants call 'incarcerating the child,' of course. THAT is how sick you are. Second guessing the cop, a trained expert in investigations...tsk tsk tsk. Yes, the was certainly an unusual story, and of course the media would rush to print it, but then don't they in any such case? So what,. Greg? So what? 0:-] http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sto...91-663,00.html Baby used as weapon October 11, 2006 12:00am A WOMAN in Pennsylvania, accused of using her baby to batter her boyfriend, said she didn't realise what she was doing until it was too late. There is also the protection of the remaining children when it has NOT been established LEGALLY who the actual perp is. More than one woman has taken a fall for the man in her life..ask Lisa. |

You hardly can figure out what's being discussed so you insert your own vapid meanderings. So CPS removes the other children. Who do you think the court uses in cases such as this to take charge of and have temporary custody of the children? Where did you get the idea that CPS ONLY gets involved in "juvenile court" cases you stupid git? 0:- |
