drug absorbsion

I take co-dodamol (codeine and tylenol), for my SPD and related pain I have
usually taken it in tablet form, the tablets are quite big, 1cm across and
not well coated, so they taste BAD, I have some difficulty swallowing them,
though not particularly bad (I would vomit instantly trying to swallow them
in pregnancy), but when getting my repeat prescription I wondered if I could
get capsules, which I could, I took the first dose in that form earlier on
this evening and it seems to be working a lot better, he good thing means
it's helped the pain a lot, the bad thing is it has made me feel a bit
woozy, which it usually doesn't, which I guess means this dose has been
absorbed better, does this make sense, I know that soluble tablets are
absorbed quicker, but I'm quite surprised by this difference, if it
continues I may be able to go down to the lower dose (currently taking 2
30/500, the lower one is 8/500), which would probably be less constipating!

Hi Anne - I too have real problems taking tablets. What I do now it
take a mouthful of bread and just as I am about to swallow it throw the
tablet in and down it goes with out reaching the sides
