SAN ANTONIO -- A couple was charged with causing a 1-year-old child
serious bodily harm on Wednesday, police said.

Child Protective Services officials accused caretakers Michael and Rosa
Castillo for harming 15-month-old Mariah.

CPS officials said they entrusted the San Antonio couple with Mariah
under an approved safety plan to care for her, since the mother wasn't
able to do so.


When Mariah's mother came to the couple's home for a scheduled visit,
she found her daughter was badly bruised all over her body, according to
an official report.

The report stated Mariah had bruises on both her arms, head, buttocks,
thighs and vaginal area.

Mariah was taken to Cristus Santa Rosa hospital.

At the hospital, doctors determined that Mariah's bruised private parts
were so extensive that they called police to report a possible sexual
assault, according to an official report.

However, a rape kit revealed that the child was not sexually penetrated,
the report stated.

Investigators arrested and charged the Castillos Tuesday night.

Before a magistrate judge, Michael Castillo, 33, defended his wife,
Rosa, 40.

"Rosa never did do anything to this child," Castillo said.

and kills more children then parents in the United States. If the
citizens of this country hold CPS to the same standards that they hold
parents too. No judge should ever put another child in the hands of ANY
government agency because CPS nationwide is guilty of more harm and
death than any human being combined. CPS nationwide is guilty of more
human rights violations and deaths of children then the homes from which
they were removed. When are the judges going to wake up and see that
they are sending children to their death and a life of abuse when
children are removed from safe homes based on the mere opinion of a
bunch of social workers.
