Halloween party help
Okay, I'm trying to plan a Halloween party of sorts for nine, high functioning Downs Syndrome teens. We have a tradition of inviting this particular class to our library for Halloween. Last year we mostly played a few games and had ourselves a fancy feast. This year the drama department would like to work with us tho we all seem to be brain dead at the moment. I'm thinking of something like a Halloween Treasure Hunt with spooky trick or treat "stations" or hunt destinations.... maybe ending with the traditional cackling witch and the goodies. Maybe an obstacle course?? (not necessarily physical) Any ideas you might have to throw out there would be most welcome. Food treat ideas would be welcome too. We love that part of it but new ideas are always welcome! Thanks! |

Halloween party help
Sounds like great fun!
Does everyone come in costume? If not, the drama department could provide a closet full of clothes and everyone could choose some and create their own outfit. Take pictures! Depending on the reading skills of the party guests, you could make a simple map and have them follow it to the different stations to pick up the treat or surprise. At the end could be the party feast, with creepy Halloween dishes like deviled egg eyeballs, punch, spiderweb cupcakes....there are a zillion and one recipes on the web. Team up and decorate pumpkins, as creatively as possible...I bet your drama department would be great at this. Teens might like dancing to a soundtrack of Halloween music ... Take lots of pictures or hand out one-use cameras to the party guests so they can take their own pictures....having them developed and looking at them later would be something to look forward to. :-) "Joni Rathbun" wrote in message ...
