We love ours - both my husband and I think it's tremendously easier to push
than "regular" strollers. Plus, we live in an intown neighborhood
where there's a lot of going
off and back onto curbs, over tree roots and broken sidewalks, through
the park, etc.

I can't give you any comparison-shopping recommendations, because we got
ours
the misc.consumers.frugal-living way - $15 at a yard sale. It's a
baby trend Explorer.

We love ours - unfortunately I got it when dd was already 2.5 years old
and wished that I'd gotten one earlier. Got it used, is great for off
road walking and around the town stuff. The front wheel doesn't swivel,
so can be a little cumbersome, but all in all, I love it.

That's the one I'm looking at on Amazon (it's on sale, so I could get it
for $120). Sometimes I think I'm crazy for it, but when we're in the US
(where it would stay), we're in a place that doesn't have sidewalks, and
walking in the wilderness is normal. Our in-town stroller doesn't work
that well in that situation.

I'm glad to hear you like it. I wish we were in a situation where I
could get one for less, just so if I don't like it, I won't have buyer's
remorse...

My husband loves ours, a Baby Jogger. I think if you get the larger
wheels, you'll be fine off-road -- that's what the company I bought it
from said.

What brand is yours? Is there something on it you'd prefer that it
didn't have (or vice versa?)?

They do have very good resale value, so you could get a bunch of that back. The
folks who put it in their yard sale for $15 may not have had a clue (or they
may not have cared and thought someone might as well get a good deal).

What do "regular" strollers cost, anyway? If I had
the choice between paying, say,
$80 for the regular one and $120 for the jogging stroller, I think it's
well worth $40 extra.

My stroller was discounted because it was last year's fabric -- like
the fabric made that much of a difference, but I digress. It was a
regular stroller, and it cost less than AUD 100. That would be about
USD 60 or so.

I looked around and settled on the tike tech roadster. 16 inch wheels
( but they have 20's), light all aluminum frame pretty good canopy and an
all weather cover that kept my daughter bone dry in sudden rain storm.
Plenty of storage on the backs and sides, a small basket on the bottom, just
add wheels assembly and most importantly it tracks really well. I am very
very pleased with it, I think I paid about 180 for the stroller and all
weather cover. The fame has a 15 year warrantee and the people at customer
service reply promptly to emails so what's not to like ? The difference
between the off road one and the roadster is the color and the treads on the
wheels.
