Postpartum birth control

4 weeks after delivery, baby is mainly bottle feeding, getting about
5% from breast milk.

Re birth control, wife and I are too afraid about the mini-pill. Seems
to be fully effective, it has to be taken same time each day, and last
thing we want now is another pregnancy. So she is considering regular
birth control as she had been on before being pregnant. Since her
supply of breast millk is already so low, do you expect it to drop
anymore after being on regular birth control?

It could. It doesn't always affect everyone the same
way, but there certainly is a possibility.

you would expect a supply drop, but then feeding that little is not
going to be driving supply anyway, so would be a cause of supply drop.

What concerns you about the minipill, it does have a 3hour window, there
are ways of acheiving that, I'm a pretty chaotic person and still
managed it. If that still doesn't suit, why not consider another
progesterone only method.

Quite possibly. Why not try Cerazette? That's a mini-pill with the
same 12-hour window as the combined (regular) pill. Alternatively, she
could consider an IUCD, the Depo-Provera injection, or the Implanon
implant (if you're in the UK).

BTW, if she's interested, it's possible to increase supply at this
stage, though it can be hard work. Let people here know if she'd like
some advice.
