She sounds like she is doing fine. It sounds like her weight gain has
slowed down over the last few weeks, but overall she has put a lot of weight
on. I'm afraid that I work in pounds and ounces when it comes to baby
weights, but if I have converted right, she is putting on 2-3 oz a week
now - that's not bad! The feeds sound fine too - count yourself lucky to be
getting 7 hours sleep!

I would say that if YOU feel she is happy and feeding well, don't
necessarily watch her weight like a hawk, but if you are worried about her,
take her to a doctor and get her checked out. (I believe things like
unirary (sp?) track infections can cause weight problems?)

Hi Anete,
I understand your situation. My daughter was born 5lb 5oz. about
2.5kg.
She has always been smaller than her age babies. She nurses very less.
She's not interested in food. But she's always happy and healthy. So I
tell myself not to worry.
As long as she's smiling and playing happily, don't worry. If she's
cranky and fussy mention it to your pediatrician.

Take care.

Hello,

She made clinical urinary analysis yesterday, and today I get the
result, and it's all ok.
Yes here in Europe we use kg and grams.
I will take her to another doctor in Friday, to listen a second
opinon.
Where are you from ?

Hi Anete --

As many here know, my daughters were both slow at growing. We were
told that 15-30 grams a day was expected, but in our case, 10 grams a
day would have been pretty good. My older daughter spent six weeks at
the exact same weight, as a matter of fact, and if I remember
correctly, it was about 14 weeks till 20 weeks, which is about your
daughter's current age. Anyway, it's not all that uncommon, but there
are some signs that it could be something more than 'just the way she
grows'.

It's great that she's sleeping well, and going so long between feeds
during the day (3.5 hours if I understand you correctly), and seems
happy, these are all good signs.

Some of the things we needed to look for as a sign that the slow
weight gain might be an actual issue we Eating/nursing way more
than many babies their age, but still gaining poorly; mucousy and foul
smelling bowel movements; vomiting/excessive spitting up; generally
unhappy baby.

I'll try to find the full list of symptoms that I posted awhile ago,
but I think if your daughter had any of these symptoms, you'd have
mentioned it, so on first glance she seems little but probably OK. If
she has anything that I mentioned above, you should talk to the Dr.
again.

Tina.
