13 month old wont sleep
"Ericka Kammerer" wrote in message ... FWIW, all of mine transitioned to beds between 18 and 24ish months, and I didn't spend any time bringing them back to their beds. Just wasn't an issue. But I'd bet that yours were sleeping through the night by the time you moved them to a bed. The OP is having trouble with night waking so I don't really think that's the best time to move to a bed. JMO, of course. JennP. |

JMO, of course. We switched Colin from a cosleeper to a mattress in his own room at around 14 months, at which point he was still waking frequently at night (that was the reason for the change, we hoped he might sleep better if he wasn't disturbed by our sleep noises). So far, he doesn't seem to realise that he *can* get up at night! On the (thankfully now very rare) occasions when he does wake and want someone, he calls/cries. He is in a sleeping bag, but he's perfectly capable of moving around in it, and often does before bedtime. Hope I haven't jinxed myself by saying this! I missed the original, but in case our situation was actually very similar to the OPs: our hope that switching rooms would help didn't work, he kept waking just as before. A few months later, though, he quite suddenly started to wake less, without our changing anything, and sleeping through the night became the norm over the course of a fortnight or so. I just shrug my shoulders and say "developmental", I suppose... Sidheag DS Colin Oct 27 2003 |
